Wolf & Mule Deer Double! Hunting Idaho 2024
Justin heads deep into the backcountry of Idaho! While hunting mule deer he encounters a wolf and changes his focus to hunting the pack. After successfully knocking down a wolf, he changes focus back to mule deer and is able to shoot a giant mule deer buck on his last day of hunting. This is a very rare double and one Justin will not forget.

Love that Initial Ascent pack! Best on the market! Well done on both kills!
Why kill a wolf a hole
Great video. Fun hunt. 100% agree that sighting a wolf turns it into a wolf hunt. Got my first one this fall too in Montana!
Nice shot, nice buck. Steep angle shots aren't the easiest. Congrats.
Thanks for sharing your hunt. You are a great hunter. Very patient. Excellent shot. Very woods wise.
What a shot dude! Bullseye
What caliber and bullet weight are you using? Congrats.
7 SAUM with a 145 gr copper. 3000 fps.
So (no judgment just curious) what do you do with the wolf now?
Great video
Thanks for watching!
Hell ya. What an awesome hunt.
Are you shooting a .22 mag?
No sir. 7 SAUM
Awesome hunts a DIY filming and hunt. How do you kike your IA pack?
Please don’t list where you hunt! #huntquiet #stopgeotagging the locals would appreciate it! No need to # anywhere…
@@TimberTramp I didn’t tag where I hunt? Or would ever give away one of my spots lol.
Nice shot!!!
U might come back as a wolf yourself and get shot. Jacka..
As..hole.......
Ranches can use range riders, adapt. Californian transplants will affect the state more than wolves😅
Adapt,
Awesome hunt. Congratulations!
Thanks 👍 I appreciate it!
Great stalk. Great shot!! Not rushing anything sure pays!! 👍👍👏
Yes it does! Thank you!
Nasty, no need to kill a wolf. What a man
It was a raven.
That’s awesome! We can’t video or take pictures of the wolves we get 😢
Where is that at?
Just found your channel - that’s a dream buck!! Well done, man 😮💨🤌🏼
Thank you sir! I appreciate it. Still can’t believe it!
Nice! Is this the middle fork?
No definitely not!
I think I need to be with yah next season! Help packing and hunt with yah.I’ll follow where ever you lead😊
😂😂 you don’t want to hunt with me I just got lucky.
Awesome, thanks so much for all the effort to bring us this video!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! It was my pleasure!
Awesome video man!! Congrats!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Great video and coverage. If you could leave the random comments on the screen a little longer, that would be great. Other than that, for me at least, one of the most entertaining and educational videos I have seen in a while. I high buck hunt for Mule deer in WA. and hope to find one just like that one. Thanks
That’s a great suggestion and I’ll do it in the future! I’m pretty green to any type of editing! Thanks for the suggestion! Good luck in WA!
Awesome man! Good work!
Thank you! Cheers!
That was the perfect hunt, a wolf and a trophy buck. That is my dream. Great job in filming, editing and sharing with us
Thanks 👍 I’m glad you enjoyed it! Definitely a dream come true!
Hey Justin! What a magnificent solo experience in the wild.. you being cool, calm and patient perfectly went in harmony to the peaceful mood of both the Wolf & the Buck..in rythem with the pure tranquility of the timber...served by the intermittent symphony of the Crow... Your sportmanship was even more masterfully matched to this opera... Both bullets surgically landed where they belonged... Your narration was a humble companion to the show too.. There's always something divine to solo hunts... Here your experience was a noble one..gifted in double.. Congrats and God bless.. It would be very nice if you could give us the stat on the technical side of your system too...The gun, ammo caliber, bullet type and grain, optics... ❤
Ditto
Thank you! That was incredibly well written! I appreciate the massive compliment! The rifle is a Divide gun company 7 SAUM on a 16 inch carbon barrel. Peak 44 stock. AB suppressor. And a Zeiss v-6 3-18-50. Let me know if you have any other questions!
AB Suppressor? love mine!
Yes sir! They make a great lightweight product for the backcountry!
Congrats!!!!! Great content and video was very well put together. Love the video of both shots and vap trail.
Got to love a good vapor trail! Thank you!
great job , love your style of hunting , i enjoy the same type of hunting pack in hunts in AZ , long shots in very rugged remote areas ...
AZ is amazing. Hopefully someday I have enough points to hunt there! 🍻
That was awesome. Great accomplishment
Thank you very much!
I like your priorities. Awesome hunt!
😂😂 thanks! Wolf is always the top for me!
I’m from MN and that’s great that you got a wolf !! There’s way too many wolves in MN
Hopefully they open up again for you guys soon!
GOOD shooting , my guts tell me you've had more than just time at a range ! nice looking rig ! may I ask you to give us the low down on your rifle congrats on a good hunt .............
Thank you! The rifle is a Divide Gun Company. Chambered in a 7 SAUM on a 16 inch barrel. Peak 44 stock and paired with a Zeiss V-6 3-18-50. Let me know if you have any other questions! Thanks for watching!!
Thank you for sharing
Yes, you got the big buck....congratulations, but is it fair chase to be able to range find him at 490, and then make the shot? Or, would it really be fair chase without the rangefinder and still make the shot? I would say, this rangefinding and distance shooting is hardly fair chase. Come on community, let's get back to fair chase!
Let me guess..... you hunt in Pennsylvania with a shotgun ?
I think hunting without a range finder is unethical.. I would much rather know the yardage and make an ethical shot based off years of practice and knowing my equipment and capabilities. If you don’t then you can certainly hunt that way. Finding a buck at a mile away in this country and getting to 490 and making an ethical shot is fair chase for me! If it’s not for you there are other options. Let’s stick together as hunters and keep our rights!
@smALL.OUTDOORS. : I think the results show he has put the time into practicing long range shooting .
@@ada-yw1bb Actually, no.... I live and hunt in Montana. Never used a range finder.
🤘🏼
🤘🤘🤘
That would be my dream hunt!
Mine too 😂😂
Very nice shot placement. Good job!
Thank you!
I got super jealous and then I realized it was in Idaho hahaha. So congrats!!
Thanks man! I appreciate it!
Right on man! What’s the details on your rifle?
It’s a Divide Gun Company 7 SAUM on a 16 inch barrel. Paired with a Zeiss V-6 3-18-50. Let me know if you have more questions 👍
@ cool what velocity’s are you getting on the 7 SAUM with that 16 inch barrel?
@@Bigfrontstick Shooting a 145 copper I get right at 3000 fps
@@smALL.OUTDOORS. 🔥 flying. That’s awesome.
Kate, you are a beast, awesome, congratulations 💪🏽👍🦌🍺
Bloody nice muley also wow
Thanks man!
Great job on the wolf watching now in Australia he blended in so well in that timber that's one animal thats eluded me on many trips to Canada hunting
If you are not watching they will disappear in seconds! Thank you!
Ravens with wolves. There is history there. Both Native American and ancient Norse mention this friemdship
Their lives are definitely intertwined! Thanks for watching.
Caliber?
