I am new to potted roses. Just got one from my nursery. I am using E.B. Stone Organic Rose food. How often should I fertilize with this during the summer? Or do you recommend going with a liquid fert for pots?
That is a great fertilizer and I use it often. Three applications during growing season should be sufficient, early spring, late spring, and mid summer. Just follow the directions on the bag for amounts.

My earth angel I got from a nursery has only given me a few tiny single blooms that wouldn’t open all the way and yet to flower again. Does it take time to establish?
In the first year, I got a few blooms. In the second year, I had lots of blooms but saw some odd shape to it, which took some pruning to fix. Now in the third year, it's making consistent flowers and has a round shape. 3 years is typical for roses to be completely established.

About two months. In Seattle , where I grow them, they stop when it turns fall as there’s not enough sunlight or warmth.
I thought you werent supposed to bury/cover the graft area. That you do it reverts back to the root stock plant
Burying the rootstock of a grafted rosebush protects against suckers, insulates the graft union from frost, provides stability, maintains consistent moisture, and improves the plant's appearance. This practice promotes the health, longevity, and aesthetic appeal of the rosebush.

3/16 in or thicker. Smaller fasters might bend when the turnbuckle is tightened.

One foot from the fence should be okay. You might have some leggy canes growing away from the fence that will need regular pruning. Alternatively, you could transplant it right next to the fence. If it is recently planted, I prefer transplanting.

Great tips! What if I already made the mistake of planting directly in to the clay soil…….how can I fix it?
Earthworms do most of the work in clay soil, but they need to be well-fed. Keep them fed by maintaining a 2-inch layer of compost and mulch around rosebushes and a 1/4” to 1/2” layer of compost at the base of your grass. Don’t use a bag for the grass clippings. The more food the worms have, the looser your clay soil will be.

Yes, always bury the bud union. Rose enthusiasts call it the bud "onion"; I have no idea why. 🤷🏽♂️

I bought some giant 5’ tall bags of perlite last year and did exactly that and my flowers beds look amazing! Never saw anyone recommend it before but you did exactly what I ended up with last year and can confirm that works great.

My front side of the house is a wall with stones edged to it. Do you have instructions on how to build a wire trellis for that?
I don’t have a video. But you could use the same technique, but attaching the screw eye varies. You'll need to install an anchor for the screw eye to attach to your wall. The type of anchor depends on the exact material of your wall.

May I recommend that instead of doing a fastener each line, we can loop a long line in square Z back and forth to cover the whole fence? Costs a little more wire but I think it's not that much of cost and you don't have to fasten each line.
Key point; high maintenance! I have enough high maintenance throughout my yard. It is a beautiful rose i probably would do in a container rather than planted out to try it out for a few years and if I like it I would move the container throughout the flowerbeds to see where it looks best. If not I can plant swap in my plant group.

May I ask what season(and what climate zones) you are clipping the leaves out and staking the Rambling rose? What would be the best time to do this?
Remove the leaves to help prevent disease as soon as the plant goes dormant. This was filmed in mid-December in Seattle, zone 9, which is when all my roses are finally dormant. You can train (stake) the canes horizontally to 45° as soon as they mature, usually after they flower and wilt, and are deadheaded. Brand new canes are very soft & fragile and easily damaged.

Thank you. The phosphorus did not occur to me. Three days ago I put my roses into pots to place around my outdoor entryway but it’s been raining ever since and the rain will continue for another week. Should I bring them back inside? If so, should I put them under a grow lamp?
Roses prefer the outdoors. Ensure your pots have drainage holes, and the roses will be fine outside in the rain.

When fully grown, they're about 4.5 feet wide. Plant them 4 feet apart, prune lightly for a good hedge.
