Very informative! I didn't know you could only use direct-purchase points for cruises. Would you be able to use resale points for Disney cruises through II?
Hello, the points bought on the resale market cannot be used for cruises. It's one of the restrictions on resales (but the resale savings are great!)
I am still trying to understand how the DVC point system works. Can you expand on how points work?
Sure; you should look up the points charts for the resorts because they vary. In a nutshell, you buy/own a # of points and get that number of points allocated each year to use for rooms/stays at the Deluxe DVC resorts. The number of points vary based on the size of the room and season. For example, a two bedroom is more points than a studio. Points cost around $80 - $150 per point depending on which resort you pick. I'd be happy to discuss if you want to call our office.
