    For the commenters saying to leave button man alone, or any future commenters, we weren’t actually searching for button man. Just thought it was a fun title for a 4wd trip in the vic high country, inspired by searching for sugar man 😅

    Looking forward to watching the whole video. Planning a similar trip next year. Love the mud flaps, where did you get them from if you don’t mind me asking. Or did you make them yourself. If so, can you give me a few pointers. Safe travels.

      @@trevorwinderlich4907 hey mate cheers, yeah I made the mud flaps. I got a 2m length of steel angle and cut it to the width of the car. Then cut the off cut in 2 and welded them to the main length either side of the tow bar insert. Then ran a bolt through underneath the tow bar insert. Super simple but has been solid. Just used rubber from Bunnings and cut to size and bolted to the main length of steel. Could have used a bit thicker rubber though as it has torn in places and I’ve patched it up with cable ties. Mudflaps seem to work, no holes in the boat from bouncing rocks 👍

      @@utephoria many thanks for the detailed info and for taking the time to respond. I’ll give it a crack. I connect a Stone Stomper between the van and tow vehicle so hope the stronger mudflap will stop stones flying back to under the van. Safe travels and enjoy the journey.

    Love seeing the Navara D40 touring Australia.I have had mine for 15 years and still love it.Simple and reliable.Not the normal pretentious youtubers with the overpriced rigs.I can relate to your set-up as we did a similar trip in 2000 with a dual cab,boat and tent.Enjoyed watching.

      @@chrisedwards8050 cheers mate. Yeah I agree, don’t need to drop crazy amounts of money and have starlink to spend a few months on the road. Pretty much just get the time off and step out the door with the gear you’ve got 👍

      We were up near the Krui town. Stayed at ‘surfing Krui’. Was pretty good value. Could be nice to stay at a place with a wave directly out the front, like mandiri, ujung bocor, or up near the peak

    Good video :) I'm part of my local 4WD Club and we did soft sand tracks hills like the Navara was trying to get up this weekend gone and we went beach and dune driving (carpenters rocks to beachport) and our tyre pressures were 10 PSI :) What PSI were you guys?

    • @utephoria
      @utephoria Год назад

      Cheers Mick, I’m keen to get over and do carpenter rocks to beachport stretch at some point too. We generally had the pressures down to about 15psi. 10psi might have helped me when it got a bit softer haha

    • @michaelvandervloet6097
      @michaelvandervloet6097 Год назад

      @@utephoria ahah yeah it does make a difference.. we aired down 10psi when cold, then drove to the start of the beach then went down 10 psi again (as tyres warmed up). It's a beautiful stretch of beach thats for sure.. If I lived back in Mount Gambier, I would do it more often but being in Hamilton, VIC closest thing for fun is Grampians (when some tracks aint closed lol)
