Cummins KTA600 warm up after overhaul
My dads 600 sits in my garage for 30ish years now
thats an 07 engine but a KTTA19 i have a 05 thats a QSK19 full electronic
Love it
What a monster! We need more videos of this beast 🤩
whats the big gauge in the lower left with the red and green needle do? havent seen those very often.....
Air suspension psi. Left and right needles.
Sounds so good, sounds just like my turned up Cummins Big Cam❤
Holy shit that sound amazing. I will fall asleep to this beautiful music. Pete 359?
Boyer Islands
Beautiful.
The view from your office is great So is the background music from a KTTA Thanks for a great video 👍
That's the scenic route That was an awesome video q
This makes me smile👌
Me too! Lol some days I love my job.
That sounds so awesome thanks for sharing
Warren and Dave Greek make the baddest PT Cummins parts out there.
Sound awesome
That's a Real Cummins motor...........Look's like you have a Double Over setup
Like a 1950,s Leyland Beaver.
No that was single over. The main was worn out so it's a 10x4 double over now, but the 6 speed is going to be rebuilt with overdrive and put back in
@@badlandsbullhauler Lovely slow changes not one crunch, just clicking from one gear to the next and how many gears are in the main gearbox currently fitted? as I know the Browne aux box is 4 speed. Before the advent of reliable button or switch operated electro pneumatic range change splitter selectors. Two stick double gearboxes were the norm for US wagons built in the 1940,s 50,s up to the mid 1960,s,. Freightliner used a 5x4 double gearbox mated to a 250 280 Clessie Cummins, some customers opting for the 'Motown' Detroit two stroke . King Clessies are very rare in the UK, Scammells of Tolpits Lane Watford Hertfordshire the first to fit the 'baby' KT450 in their Mark 2 Contractor Heavy Ballast Tractor for heavy haulier Wynns. That wagon is a monster hauling 250-300 tons, no problem on her own , no assistance.
@basiltaylor8910 in this video it was a 6 speed main with a 4 speed auxiliary, both are spicer boxes though. Currently it's a 10 speed fuller eaton main with the same auxiliary but thats temporary.
@@badlandsbullhauler 24 gears, that will keep King Clessie spinning nicely, 24 is about right, do not want any more. With all that power on two drive axles your Pete must eat drive tyres, but the KTA is a very cool engine.
Like a girlfriend whispering in my ear!
Oh man, I really love the sound of this legendary engine. I never get tired of hearing it. By the way, do you have a Facebook account? I would like to talk to you. I have a question for you, sir, please.
Sorry, I do not.
@@badlandsbullhauler oky and do you have instagram
@mabroukhelloub3982 I don't have any form of social media aside from this deal.
The sound of power of never gets old It sounds great
That works Try a #5 button lol
Sounds awesome
Beautiful countryside. Kta sounds great too 👍
lol I came and looked at your neighbours w900. Saw you driving that Pete. Very cool truck.
Thank you!
What sort of fuel economy do you see hauling 80k of gogo girls? Where does she like to be in terms of cruising rpm?
Cruises nice around 16-1700, lots of smiles per gallon 😂... i avg 1.7 km/L ... my friend has an FLD with a 600 hp 3406E that averages 1.9 on the same run.
That sounds fantastic Big power is awesome You are definitely off road Thanks for another great video 👍
Is this in the Drumheller area?
Yes it is
Oh yeah!👌🏽🖖🏽🦾🍻
Very nice shifting! That KTA sure does sound good! 👍
Kta 600
KTTA 675 turned up a tad
Nice brotha
G'day from Australia 🇦🇺 You call yourself Bull Haulers we call them Beef Buses here. Loaded or Empty either way sounds tough. Cheers Louis Kats 👍
Can't find 2 in a 1000 that use the same name for them lol
@@badlandsbullhauler 👍👍
That sounds awesome It takes big displacement for a Jake to hold its own that well Great video 👍
The guy who invented this type of exchange was a juggler or liked to play arcade games.
Super cool!
Excelente
Still want to learn how to drive one
Nothing to it but time in the saddle, you’ll be an old pro before you know it
Just leave the Jake's on. That poor switch gone fall off. 😅
No solenoid on the pedal back then, you had to engage manually.
@michaelsorrentino-yp7nb I'm talking about throttle control. Leave the switch on, but be able to control the sweet spot to gave them not engage.
@@nonya1588it was either on or off on the engine
@alexmatthews2332 yeah, but of you can really drive, you know how to work the throttle, to where the Jake's don't engage when shifting. Been doing it since 98.
@@nonya1588you must not have drove a rig where when Jake’s are on there ain’t no giving ANY throttle thus why they began to install throttle and clutch switches
Fresh overhaul? Why is it ‘hunting’?
The cam in the injection pump makes it lope like that
Sounds good.
Retired truck driver thanks for the smiles, im gonna be smiling all day🎉
My dad drove a 5x4 Spicer. But never used his left hand. I’m sure there are those who prefer that method, but it isn’t necessary at all.
Reminds me of my grandad’s A model. KTA 750 hp 13 speed. Just shoot up hills and never touch the gear lever
That looks like a familiar road, could it be South Pass?
Sounds like your empty
*you're
*Full 😂
yeah those old trucks sound good but they dont get out of their own way even empty. Thats the reason for all those gears. Seriously. Even todays small 11 liter motors put out more power and torque than the biggest motors back then. Only need 8 forward gears
@@mikegrazio5376its not a race buddy
@@mikegrazio5376I'll gladly put my KTTA up against anything new today. There is no comparison to old big blocks to today's small over the road trucks
Sorry but 5/4 is ridiculously stupid
How so?
If you knew how it work you wouldn't say that never drove a twin but I know how it works and why it would be really useful
Its ancient technology
@@bradsegee1069 That works!!.
Nothing better than a KTA. Outpull and outwork a V8
Wow! Never get tired of watch amazing videos of this nature! Working the gears/jakes indeed. #Keepontruckin 👌💯
You made the mistake of putting 600 pistons in the engine . (The smoke )
It was a factory 600 soooo yeah.
@@badlandsbullhaulerput 525 pistons in it , turbo & injectors make it a 525.
@ruxoneto6560 why would you make a factory 600 a 525 😂😂😂😂😂
The smoke and hard starting is just a staple of PT cummins setups. When it's warm it probably clears up just fine.
@eroc1970 No , as it warm up it will clean up a bit but 600 pistons 14.5 comp are dirty up to 80° ambient air temp, the 600 will never get fuel milage , allways idle dirty , and the jake will never hold as good as 525 . that is why ktta650 & up have step timing.!!
Sounds good, but if you change the button, you might not have needed a downshift 😁
Sure sounds like a. K model.
Can't b reaching thru the wheel
Why?
