This was so great !!!buying the book thanks 🙏
Avoiding saying "no" is really hard. My almost 2yo daughter wants to do things she shouldn't do because they're either dangerous or will make a huge mess ridiculous mess and whenever she is attempting these things she moves really fast so I need an even faster way to tell her "don't do this because it is dangerous and I dont want you to stab yourself", that's where "NO" comes in. Even I hate myself but it is near impossible to not say "no" almost all day everyday
Absolutely, and it's fine to say no to a kid, boundaries are really important.
Re-directing is more effective.. As, no is more appealing...
6:17 while I was listening I told my son, “play dough is for the table,” after he threw it on the floor, and then you started talking about this 🤯😆 Lovely video!
When letting the tantrum work itself out… how long is too long where enough is enough and something needs to change
Great video these strategies really does work. Learned behaviours
I agree there is no need for spanking just allow them some space and wait until they calm down
Thank you. 🙏

Do you have any more questions about getting your baby to learn to crawl? Ask them below and I'll make sure I get to them :)
It's more than just a need it's a want too, sometimes acting out to get something you tell them they can't do or have to keep them safe. As they don't know about staying safe you teach them. The time thing doesn't work for young children as they can't tell time or are of the age to understand the concept. Give children another 2 choices if you don't want them to have something or do something. Time outs work much better than spanking, spanking teaches children to solve things with hitting most likely other children. The best advice was let the tantrum play out don't feed it with attention, put them in a crib they can't get out of or a safe space. This will teach them the behaviour will have them in their space. Always talk to them of why they are going in that space and as soon as they calm down talk to them again explaining why not to do that and that is what will happen if they do. Also good advice is to praise them when the do something positive or learn something new.
Thank you for your insights. Yes, children do act out to get something they can not have simply because they are still learning a want from a need but also how to regulate their emotions, delayed gratification, and self-control. All of these are lifelong skills that are slowly developed over time. Timeouts however are not an effective punishment when a child sits alone and disconnected from their caregivers. But if there is a place that is still close to others where a child would like to go to take a break or a place where a parent and child go together to take a break that is wonderful since a parent is still connecting with their child. And yes, just like you said talking afterward is always important. So again thank you for more tips and your insights.
@@dollarmommyclub5831 respectively have to disagree, time outs have been very effective for my 4 children coupled with communication of course of why and how their bad behavior effects them/ us and others. Also it gives them the self reflection training, empathy training, much better then hitting which teaches anger hate and revange. There is a cause and effect reaction to everything you do involing others in life, by not teaching your child the nagitives of an action will cause them to be unaware and surprised when they receive punishment for bad or dangerous actions to others by others. In tern making them intitled, that their feelings actions are paramount, over anyone else's. Something that also arises from home training " I can act like this home, but not here" mantality it's startling to a parent when they can see how they behave differently good or bad with others. This is less seen in the Me generation, behaviour control, who have generally received less punishment intern acting out in adulthood in different ways. For some examples, getting extremely angry in ppl faces, screaming, when not getting their way or losing a debate or shown their wrong, as children do, even though possessing a fully developed vocabulary. Yes I know generations before all had different reactions leaning to the more violent, some mom's hit by dad's, dad's belittled by mom's or jobs etc. Seen and copied. I suggest how children are raised now, effects the next generation, hiding bad things (unpleasant topics) or punishment doesn't really help them but instead removes the ability to handle or prevent them, if it arises, on dealing with what's going on. This seems to be the trend don't hurt my child's feelings by teaching humanities past mistakes but how will they grow if you don't give them knowledge of past mistakes with the success? Intern we are teaching new generations, ignore nagitives and only focus on positive and are teaching this younger and younger. Then wondering "why are they like this" as adults. We should instead imho teach, it happed , yes it's not your fault, don't repeat the bad mistakes, teach them why you/we shouldn't repeat them and that overcoming it can happen. Tell them why, depending on the topic and how much, depends on their age. If not they're going to learn from someone else and it might not be to your liking. Training takes time and patience if you don't put in that time, making sure not to teach nagitive hate / fear (trust me they hear /see everything) , the results will show and all good parents want the best for their kids, lol hopefully grandkids too so they will live on. The end result is how they behave without you in there presence. It's a reflection of not just their inside / outside surroundings but also of the parents teaching and observed behaviours. Hey thanks for the conversation and your opinion.
Thank you ❤️
You’re welcome ☺️
