Просмотров 2,5 тыс.5 лет назад
outer seal was leaking on my 08 durango. bought the seal kit to rebuild it but didnt want to get that far into it so decided to just do the one outer seal that was leaking. seal kit was from Edelman
DUDE YOU ROCK!!!!
Wow, thank you! I started having electrical issues and looked at this panel. There was water under the panel. On the back of the board I found some corrosion. I got some alcohol and cleaned it up and everything works again! You saved me at least $200 and some heartache.
I may run a bead of silicon where the rubber seal is to try and seal it better.
I'm super glad it helped!
Do you know how to shut off the ice maker permanently?
Remove ice box and on the left side you will see a small panel labeled ice maker control, just slide toggle to off
@@markm2993 got it thanks. I’m have frosting issues in the freezer. Can’t figure out what is going on, I have about had it with this fridge.
@calivalley9056 I would start with checking door seals on the freezer to make sure your not getting extra moisture in there.
@@markm2993 Yep that was the first thing I did. Even ran a small bead of grease around the seal. Still frosting up, this is the fourth time. Ran the diagnostics and found nothing.
@@calivalley9056 there is only a couple components to the freezer, I would run the fan diagnostic using the panel and see if you can hear it running. I would also put a thermometer in there to make sure that it is at the set temperature.
Do you replaced that little board you took out?
I was able to repair the connection and save the board. To replace the board is kind of expensive when we never altered any settings anyway
Thank you! After ordering a used control panel on e-bay we saw this video. I unplugged the circuit board and voilà! all the lights came back on! Thanks again.
Glad it helped!
Did you see any other problems with just unhooking the board? We have done so and all of the "symptoms" have vanished except I still cannot use the "diagnostics" on the main control panel. Everything else seems to be functioning correctly now. Thanks again. @@markm2993
Thank you so much for the video. It was a source of my issue with my fridge. Save me $158 to have a service guy come out and tell me what you told me for free.
Glad it helped!
This was helpful! I already had a tech come out and order replacement parts under warranty. It’s good to understand what’s happening. I just got a new control panel in the mail today and the plug was all corroded. I notice yours has a loose orange wire. Was that reattached to the plug? My yellow and orange wire came off and there were little wire terminals inside the plug. Now I need to find where to get parts to pin it again.
Yeah, my pins had corroded and fallen off the back. I just soldered directly to the panel and placed a thin layer of silicon along the whole backside to keep moisture away, as well as checking it often.
I don't know if this has a disadvantage, but I just removed the circuit board from the drawer, and left the wiring there and fridge seems to work fine!!!!
Yeah I never bothered replacing the panel either. There is a baffle in the back that is controlled by the drawer panel so as long as its full open you won't have any problems.
@@markm2993did you replace board or you just left it unplugged?
@mikimiki195 initially, I left it unplugged but was later able to repair corroded connections
@@markm2993 thank you 🙏🏻
I have the exactly fridge the inside Lights don’t work 😢
There is a technician diagnostic mode available online that may help troubleshoot the fridge available on justanswer.com will help determine if it's a door sensor or board failure etc
I have the same problem. I can't fix it! No lights come on, no water gets dispenses, doors don't appear to be closed even thought they are, please guide me to fix this
Update: opened that panel and indeed, it was rotten with full of water, some wires were torn too and some even disoldered from the board....
Update2: ripped off the panel, and how could you not, everything works now! Even without that little panel, the doors are "closed" now, it makes ice and but it didn't dispense water, the lights inside light up. That's crazy! Thank you so much for showing this
PSA: knowing my family, this probably won't get fixed any time soon. We got this fridge almost brand new with some problems (it seemed like they all relate to the same root cause) at at a liquidation for dirt cheap. Thank you so much anyways, the fridge works so far. Except the water won't get dispensed
Awesome im glad it helped you out I never bothered replacing the panel either the drawer works fine without it.
Thank you soooo much man. gonna check this as soon as I get home. door light on and wont shut dispenser off when you remove the glass. the freezer has been freezing up and have to defrost about once every year, is this the same freezing issue you were having or was that something else
My freezing/warming was limited to the fridge cabin space not the freezer but both use the same sensors so might be worth a shot. There a steps online to force the fridge into a defrost mode to melt condenser ice buildup. As far as your water goes it sounds like it might just be a sticky paddle from hard water. Spray some clr or vinegar up high and it might help with the paddle sticking. Can also check and see if a door sensor isn't working. Might be causing your lights staying on. Google diagnostic mode 5 door kitchen aid and it should come with testing steps for fridge
the lights dont stay on, all the paddles respond well. the open door warning light stays on. thx for the advice. where is the sensor you replaced located. also where would I spray the vinegar....
@@-hondosolo4518 spray the hinge at the top of the water paddle. And check the door push sensor for each door and drawer to see which one is not showing closed.
Do not buy this!
All French door fridge is have their issues. This is no exception. Samsung and LG are in a class action lawsuit over stuff like this. Just got rid of Samsung fridge and a Samsung dishwasher. Both failed. Dishwasher failed in three years. Fridge failed after seven. Cost to repair was almost out of a new fridge soap new fridge. Thanks for the down low on this one.
I found Samsung struggled with humidity control. With the French doors being open and the rapid loss of cool air they constantly frost up the coil. We have a busy home and this fridge has been more then reliable minus the drawer panel. Keeps milk cold in the door which is more than I can say for most French door fridges.
You bought the absolute worst problematic fridge ever made in the history of refrigeration
My Samsung fridge will forever be the worst. This fridge has been great since repairing and durable considering what my kids put it through. Hasn't even frosted up with them in and out at all times during the day.
@@markm2993 I wholeheartedly agree with you on Samsung. They’re just the worst. Great electronics people, appliance people not so much.
That orange wire has corroded from its connection. You can work the connector out of the terminal and solder it back to the wire, then reinsert it back into the terminal. Your panel should start working again.
KitchenAid is a terrible product. Don't buy it.
Yep, had the same problem and I expect it to happen again. There isn’t a solution. Really poor design.
Mine's is leaking on the driver side you can see the grease buildup on the boot my vehicle making a grunt squeaking sound I have a 07 Chrysler Aspen 5.7
could be hard to say without being able to look at it
What repair was needed for the icing up of the back I’m having the same issue
Genuine OEM Part # | RC Item # 4534150 here is the part you'll probably need. Repair clinic has a good video on the repair and it's fairly straight forward. Hardest part I found was the rear cooling tower tabs can be pretty fussy to pop out and back in. Hope this helps
Good heads up and straight forward video. Thanks for the tip.
Where did you get the seal from, thanks
Rock auto.com I order all my parts from them
thanks i will try this instaed of remove all the steering rack
Thank you for taking the time to film this part and upload it. very helpful.
