It's reacting that way because you are absolutely horrible at handling tarantulas. Who taught you to violently roll up the webbing like that or to use two hard sticks to roughly force a tarantula to do what you want it to do. You are lucky I wasn't there when you did this.

I kept 3 of these several years ago. They scared me because of their reputation but strangely I never had any serious issues with them. At the height of my collecting I had 54 Ts most of which were investments I bought cheap for a later sale. The most aggressive beast I had was one of five adult female Trinidad Chevrons. While she wasn’t particularly venomous she made up for it with Satanic behavior none of the others ever demonstrated.

When were the slings born? If it was before Christmas then i probably have 1 of their children

Usually maintaining contact going in slowly & steady with a paint brush works better. I’ve found personally… Phew she was pissed lol ❤😂 made my heart jump watching it lol

So baaad. Sticks too short and almost damaged her leg. You know they are lightning fast and saw one jumping like 30cm maybe even more. You were very very lucky man.

I have a mature male G.Pulchripes about 7 inches long. He just developed his Tibial hooks when he Molt on May 10,2022. Any idea how much months or years of his lifespan left? Your answer is highly appreciated.

I have to tell you, I giggled when she took your stick (snicker). And then when you put the other one in and it looked like she was dueling with you. Hahahaha. But holy cow, when she came zooming out and you jumped, SO DID I!!!! Man, she is freaking fast and scary, good job at getting her moved :)

I bet you never thought you would be attacked by a tarantula that has its own mini javelin 😁. I have a sling of one of these, it flies at me from across its enclosure, very feisty.
