Grew up not far from here in the 60s, it is a surreal and almost alien feeling landscape - it is probably one of Alberta's best hidden gems.
What month was this ?
Wow, has slalom equipment and technique changed!
Excellent. Visited as a student from Ceramics Canada, Calgary in 1976. Friends of Medalta welcomed Carlton Ball who was our teacher. I myself came down from the Yukon to learn.
I always love hearing memories like this - thank you for sharing!
This piece from Bert Kaempfert sounds like "Spanish Flea" by Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass being played backwards. 🤣PLEASE keep these Disneyland ride videos coming.
I did not even exist in the world look so strange that time

Both my mom and dad worked at Medalta in 1945 before they were married. My mom trimmed plates. Fantasitc documentary!
I always love hearing about the family connections that trace back to Medalta - that's so cool! Thanks for watching.
The "Monty" Thomas referred to was Monty Atwater, a pioneer in avalanche control. I worked for years at Squaw with his sons, "Chip" and "Tiger." Those were some wild times back in the 80's.
Thanks for the memories!!
The narrator was Lowell Thomas, A well known world traveler, author, and radio news anchor for CBS. Since CBS televised the 1960 Winter Olympics, I would think that Thomas, an experience skier, probably did commentary on alpine skiing.
Never seen a 15 year old video on here
I absolutely love living in Medicine Hat.
nice !
Very inspiring and beautifully made film, thank you for sharing it!
thank you so much for watching!
wheres ur back to the future buick video
Cute
Nice
I LOVE downtown Medicine Hat. There are some incredible buildings. It could so easily become an inspirational place to live, shop and spend your day. It has character and charm. ❤ It is starting to bloom again.
Cute
Amazing I m also planning to move here
This video was really well done! Deserves more views :) I spent a summer in Med Hat getting my pilot’s license and I miss it :)
thank you!
M83 - Too Late
The people in Zanesville, Ohio could learn a very valuable lesson by watching this video. I did a trip once from Buffalo to Port Huron across Canada. I was so impressed by the highway signs pointing to the cottage industries. We have so much to learn from our neighbors north of us.
Never heard of that before since its way out my province, but want to discover it next time i road trip across canada! Cant wait to go see the site!
Changing the guard at parliament hill ottawa
Yes travel occurred a while back. 2020 is pretty much a wash out for a lot of travel. Hope the vaccine comes soon.
very instructive
My father is David Jamieson. Thank you for this. It meant a lot. I remember when he was involved. It was very important to him. Great job. David Jamieson II.
He played a vital role in saving this place - was so glad to have him involved to share his perspective. Thank you!

When this kind of printer will be avialible? Its been 4 years.
It has been available for some time. Look up Tethon 3D for more of their developments.
Its very nice
Fascinating story and awesome production
Thank you for watching!
It has always fascinated me to wander Medalta and the enclave - the clay district - of which it is a part. Although bits and pieces of the story have been evident during my time around Medicine Hat, this documentary pulls it together - and more. Well done, Luke.
Thank you for having a look - I appreciate it!
As one who loves to make by hand and all that goes with it... and at the same time one who is fascinated by technology and the amazing things it can yield.. I think this is truly a wondrous time we live in. May all technology be used for good .. that is my hope.
This was great..best wishes
Wow!! That was awesome!
Damn i would of been 4 years old
I was in Toronto in July 2000, 20 years old, my first backpackers trip coming from The Netherlands, crossing the ocean. I was immediately hooked, loved it. The buildings were so impressive to me. Went up the CN tower, later went up a skyscraper pretending I worked there, just to go to the top floor. People were looking at me a bit awkward, but I went through, took a peak through the windows and went back down again. This was before terrorism became a reality in the West :( My first trip on my own... Went to check a newly built condo at the waterfront downtown Toronto... $165.000 CAD back then, and was affordable to my family, but my mother replied over the phone: "You just arrived 5 days ago and already want us to buy something there?" Obviously my family never did buy anything.... I traveled 50 days from East to West (partially doing the Moose Run), I truly LOVED Canada!! I felt very at home and the people were extremely friendly! <3 <3 <3
Lol nice I was born in August 2000 in Toronto. Now I’m 20 and you’re 40. Time flies.
@@GpL_2000 Lol, same
God bless all three of you 🤝🤝
Didn’t even exist
I miss this 😥😭💔
I miss those days 😭💔
I was only 3 months old at that time.I was born in May of that year.
I was born in November 2000
Look at 3:35. The arms broke off the frogs. Whups, happens to the best of us! Might need bit more binder. Even better, a water activated ceramic would be a good option. Maybe calcium oxide. Plain-old cement might work. You'd be able to print tapered columns with variable composition. Another option, would be porcelain and silica. You'd get stuff that's brown like tile in some spots, but clear like glass in others.
That fanfare when the calcite fizzed was excellent!
