For sure! This particular door is an Andersen, but they are very expensive as well.

@thebigdoorguys lift n slide is the other one...a german model...iam spoiled my surf buddy is my door guy, so he fills me in on all the slick tricks...like if the door slides with diffaculty they make a thinner felt...and fleetwood came and installed it for free.....the doors on that job were 110 inches tall too..i framed a pocket as a garage to house all the doors as well...that wat they were out of sight...it was an Ehrlich job so we made architectural digest for that house...

⁠@@Miqnayahuyeah, they have different thicknesses of pile weatherstripping that can be used to make the doors seal better or slide better. Knowing the tricks makes door installing easier😋 That’s awesome that the work was in Architectural Digest!!!

He has enough hairspray to make a hard hat out of his hair😂 But yes, in general, hard hats on job sites are very important.

Some manufacturers say to wrap it in on multislide doors, and others have it held out until the frame is installed. Wrapping the WRB in at the head jamb has never made sense to us, so we hold it out until the frame is installed. This frame is also very deep for 5 panels, so the framing is a little different than typical framing. We have a full install video for these doors on our page if you want to check it out!

@ I’ve installed several of these doors. It makes sense to me to wrap the substrate and waterproof it. After the head track and framing for the doors is installed, you can perimeter seal it, so it has room for movement yet it’s still waterproof.

Thank you! It’s a modified version of the technique used in the installation instructions. They provide straps, but they cannot be tightened to raise the door frame. These red straps are easy to use on the smaller frames to quickly raise the frame. On the larger frames we use heavier duty straps and several more straps as well as 2x6 blocking along the jamb framing. The larger doors get intense.

@thebigdoorguys I miss the work. Retired union glazier. High end residential was my favorite. Like Bill Gates house. One of Paul Allen's. And the lesser known microsoftees. Mostly highrises. No scratches allowed. Peace.

@@Court-fl8ck That's really cool! I hear you on residential new construction being your favorite! Luckily, the only actual scratch on this door was on the handle and it was there when we opened the box. Something easy for a surface repairer to take care of!
