This is what I remember from my bootcamp I served 84-88 in the Marines, Infantry and MEUSOC so yes this is what bootcamp is like atleast in my era it was. This still gives me PTSD.

Yes indeed that’s our training corp is tougher than your branch. Now we build new barracks with inside training when it rains, so troops won’t get slip & fall injuries. Not like before that Lackland AFB took over Medina AFB Base and majority of Kelly field runway. Also if you remember (Big Willy ) yes Wilford Hall US Medical center ? It just got knocked down two months ago. If you ever visit Military City, you would see it differently. Also Brooks AFB is closed down, thanks to Bill Clinton for signing tha brac sheets to shut down four military bases in San Antonio Texas. Brooks AFB East Kelly AFB Kelly field Camp Stanley Medina AFB Which now we only got Randolph AFB FT. Sam base Camp Bullis Lackland AFB Martin Helo pad which next to Randolph AFB. So if you remember why San Antonio was known as Military City’ to many base in one city. More than any other city in the USA 🇺🇸. Camp Pendleton have not changed a lot at all. Only minor details on old building barracks and mild upgrades on public chow hall. Thanks for sharing this video.

My dad worked on Kadena for 6100LSS, an apparition of an old Japanese fighter pilot walked through the shop. Across the street from his shop were some old WW2 Japanese airplane hangers.

I lived in kadena airbase (Sebille manor) and the house I lived in was haunted !! I was a little kid and experienced a lot of paranormal incidents. I also would go hiking all alone with a backpack, peanut butter & jelly sandwich, and a bb gun in the boonies and I swear there's souls lingering around.

Aviation movies may not seem very realistic. I know it’s all choreographed and the pilots did a great job. They’re very professional. I simply look at them as entertainment. Yes, you might spot some mistakes here and there, but still it’s all popcorn fun. 🍿 I personally love this movie. It’s a masterpiece. Kudos to director Chris Nolan.

I've applied for the Royal Navy on ship admin roll and had to do a fitness test as part the application process, so its likely the same with the RAF that the reality of the exercise if you dont have the common sense to expect it when applying is already given in advance to this start process. luckily i also applied to a civilian roll as well that i got instead as i did not have the common sense to think even admin staff would need to keep up on the bleep test 😂

Su 57 has been spotted over the front line in Ukraine when it lost control of a S-70 drone and it shoot it down. They were flying at more than 5000 meters because they had contrails. If it had the RCS of an F18 it would be dead from a Patriot missile long before even reaching the front line. Flying so high in a normal plane is suicide, so that to me shows that stealth works on the Su 57 and the S-70 for that matter. Many videos of russian bombing behind the front lines are taken by S-70 drone. The drone the Su 57 shot down crashed on ukrainian controlled territory, kinda deep in the territory too.

I saw a documentary on PBS about the Spanish Flu and how it wiped out thousands of soldiers, children and young adults. My friend's ancestor lost all three of his young children, as did the families on his street.

`First, I never saw or had a DI as nice as in the movie; they were brutally hard-assed and would knock you on your ass right up to graduation. Second, we were given a specific number of rounds for qualifying and had to account for the brass after each firing session. The bolts were changed before and after the rifle range so nobody could fire from the weapon. I cannot recall seeing any donuts in the mess hall at PI; besides, we were hustled into the mess hall and hustled out.

There was a time we were proud of American military Strong men and women ready to serve with pride our best ally. Now i fear for America's future concerns me greatly

Rcs simulatios, just by disinge are below a meter, adding the stealth coat and radio absorbing materials the felon got a decent stealth capability of 0.014 Not as good F22 and F35, but still give the advantage over any 4g figther. And thats not even the scariest part off the felon, but it new gen weapon and long range detection

I enjoyed the original movie "the Man Who Never Was" filmed in the late 50's a little more than this one. Probably because I've watched it with family members who were in WWII at the time all this took place, and being a witness to their reactions to it and the conversations they had over it. As a boy, i never missed an opportunity to be a mouse in the corner while they were reliving and revisiting their time in the Army Air Corps.

I watched this movie for the first time as a 13 year old with my grandfather and great uncle, both of which flew as gunners (waist and tail) in the B-17G over Germany. During the portions of actual combat footage they would become very quiet and still. It was only years later that i realized they were reliving the war in their minds, much as Savage was living that last mission on the ground. Id watch that movie at least once a month with my grandfather. We'd talk about his experiences and what it was like. Years after he went to be with the Lord, I was privilaged to work on Sentimental Journey when she flew into NAS Whidbey Island for an airshow. I got to go inside and see where the positions were and I understood better the life lived by those great men and their shipmates. This movie continues even now in my 60's to be one of my most favorites along side "Harms Way".

HA! This gentleman here is a gold mine. Great attitude, subtle sarcasm, understands it is a movie meant for entertainment, a few pointers on the real-deal, and a-hoe we go. I' d say he ranks top commentator with Max Afterburner, except this man here has 3x the experience :)

At age 63, I tried to lift myself into a B-17 as is done at 35:05 and watched another Bomber Camp attendee (age 43) try that. Can't be done! Maybe at age 19!

And at 34:20, the commentator refers to General Curtis LeMay (not "May" or Mahan"). LeMay never flew B-17s and was a major, later colonel when he served in the 8th AF.

Boeing used to build great airplanes, before the Wall Street guys got involved!

I've seen this movie many times, but never with commentary on why it is so often shown in officers' training on leadership. I always thought I would love to see the commentary by USAF and other instructors. Thank you!
