I grew up there... Mysterious? Nice to hear... but it was great to be a child growing up there. BMXing and skateboarding, all types of sports and festivals, drawing and music lessons. Great friendships and food. Church is "Virgen de las Nieves" -> Virgin of the Snow. Not "Neves" BTW - Not "Casablanca" (which would be in Morocco) but Costa Blanca (The White Coast) which is the most popular Summer tourist destination in Spain.

Santander is a beautiful city and there is nothing terrifying other than the terrifyingly bad mispronouncing of the Spanish names and places. The city and región deserve better than this.

Hi everybody, mi wife is born in Santander. My mother and brother in law are still living in Cantabria near from Torrelavega, the second largest city of Cantabria. I'm not spanish and my first language is french, i know, my english isn't perfect. I come from Geneva, Geneva in Switzerland Europa, not Geneva in USA. Thanks for the title of your video, my father in law was one these poor children. The life was very dificult in Spain during the WW2. The country was in civil war 3 years before de WW2 and the people were very poor. Now we are one century later and Spain is absolutely diferent. It's a modern country and very pleasant to live in. With my wife we have the project to remove in Cantabria next year.
