This is exactly what I needed to find. Thank you so much . So many people say, oh, this is how you can install truenas on proxmox, but then you never get instructions on how to get a disk into truenas as a beginner.

Can you please do an updated video on how to add commercial VPN to Qbittorent (or any torrent client) for dragonfish?

Thanks for this; I’ve been seeking an alternative solution to downloading through QbitTorrent and using Real-Debrid instead. Once you’ve used something like RD that makes downloading things almost trivial, you’ll never want to go back to regular torrent clients again. I’m putting these together, with Whisparr and the accompanying auxiliaries, and trying to ensure that all of it can be funneled into my cloud server-which will, hopefully, give me the means to build my media library indefinitely. Thanks so much for posting this tutorial; very helpful.

I guess we need to wait for TruNAS Electric Eel version to release in October before we can add a VPN to apps again: "In addition to expanding the available Apps list and improving performance, leveraging Docker Compose capability also provides the ability to create more complex App environments, such as multiple Apps, dependencies, and associated ingress, load-balancing, VPN, and gateway policies. Nice video- worked great with the one addition mentioned by @rogercrane9332, I had to comment out all lines with jdk.jar.disabled... there were 2 in my file.

I found I had to run these commands on both nodes for it to release the quorum (v8.2.4) Was a bit of panic, but got there in the end :)

FYI to anyone trying to install PIhole with this guide the Truecharts group has stopped supporting Truenas and has deleted their whole catalog. The download portion of this guide won't work anymore. Edit: The rest of the guide still works, just use the offical pihole docker

Good video I think you are the only one that's ever used the quick boot menu, others lead people into the bios just to boot the install stick. Only thing I think could have been changed is wiping the test disk to eliminate the optional install choices, but still a good video. Was wondering if you have ever tried Ventoy for USB install stick, it's the only boot stick you'll ever need, as it allows for the drop and drag of images.

this is a very bad practise. you need to pass the whole controller. truenas and zfs needs smart data and full control of the disk . in this way its not possible. to have a fully functional truenas you need to pass through a whole controller with pci e passthrough which will give you the same control as if its physical

I'm a vmware boomer and switched to proxmox. You have solved 90% of my issues by explaining in the first few minutes to switch to the non liscenced repo. Fixed all of my issues related to pci passthrough right there. Fantastic video haha

Plex is more difficult to setup in Scale than Core which really surprised me.

I'm a fan of PiHole, but after I found AdGuard DNS, which is a free DNS service with adblocking, and no need to manage after setting up devices to use it, either it being their public DNS or by using their software and apps, I'm not sure if I'll be using PiHole again, as I'm not really good at checking for updates regulary AdGuard's Android app allows to really customize how it's going to work, what it's going to block, adding/removing adblock lists which it will update automatically, and so on. not as much settings for the Windows software, but still all the important features. the biggest advantage is the fact that it works on any network, even cellular data on Android (and iOS) which really isn't the case for PiHole without a 3rd party app to run a local VPN, just to use your own DNS

This was a great video and I used it back when it came out. However, TrueCharts is no longer providing applications to TrueNAS Scale. Do you have/can you please make a tutorial to show how to add a VPN to TrueNAS's version of qbit?

Thank you! I had some issues as things have changed. This video still helped a ton. -Admin adminadmin is no longer working anymore, you have to check the logs, its a random password in the log, change it fast. -I had issues with permissions and groups, I would advise everyone to set that up correctly using another video about it as its kinda complex. Just go through it, as my permissions were very wrong, they still mostly are but it now works.

Hi, I followed all your guides back in November and my setup has been working brilliantly! Truecharts is being depreciated in future updates now which means the plugins aren't being updated. Can you make a migration guide or updated guide for these plugins as I followed all of yours to complete the setup. Thanks!

These instructions only pass the compute capabilities, not the entire GPU. A real test of passing a GPU to a container is to run a 3d accelerated desktop environment (example, install gnome and run glxgears or davinci resolve), which requires also the graphics capabilities of a GPU not just the compute capabilities.
