I'm currently on the educational path towards becoming a School Psychologist, and I'm familiar with the lack of black male professionals in the field as well as the lack of black men as teachers in the field of ECE which was what I was previously pursuing. My love for psychology as field of study and career got the better of me and I felt was a better path for me personally. I've also seen the lack of spaces for black men in higher education pursuing School Psychology, dare I say Psychology as a whole. So I've been blessed to have professors and advisors that have encouraged me to keep it going when things get tough for me. I'm also blessed to have found this channel as I feel it will be a resource to help keep me focused as to why I'm pursuing this field professionally.

Witnessing a group of black men uniting in a public forum to advocate for our children is awesome. Thank each of you for showing up and sharing your knowledge about a topic that’s important to the black community. Thank you all for choosing to become a school psychologist and therefore changing the perception of what he/she is supposed to look like.
