I got this game right before I went to Iraq. Got the collectors edition with a piece of the Berlin Wall and everything. I got a model of Checkpoint Charlie for my dad and intended to ship it to him before I left as he had grown up as an Air Force brat, spending much of his youth and young adulthood in Germany and having photos of the wall from piles of debris to its final form. I shipped it out with UPS along with the first medal I had ever earned (ARCOM for saving a guys life). It never reached his house. I was freaking out as I was in the middle of the deserts of Texas, and UPS swore up and down that they had delivered it. They eventually gave my dad a possible alternate address, and still nothing. Finally, I managed to get a third address 3 blocks north of his house 14 days after it was supposed to arrive. My dad went up there, saw an abandoned rental house, and saw some packaging behind the bottom frame of the screen door. The package was there, unopened, left by a delivery man who couldn't tell 16th Street from 13th but was a master of hiding packages from porch thieves. The game was fun, too.

Heard Shadow on the Sun in Collateral and it instantly gave me flashbacks to this scene. Stopped the movie just to come and watch it.

still better than the new bf2042 trailer..... love the series but man does this hit.....

What I love about this trailer is you get zero context. You just get a view looking up and military choppers creeping in and lining up like calvary charging in. You see the statue of liberty and know "okay, something serious is happening in New York city" then the view of the rear gunner now knowing that it looks like full on war is raging below. Everything from the pilot struggling to control the chopper and helping his copilot that just got shot in the throat to the soldiers getting helplessly flung out the back to plummet to their death fills you with chills and dread all while witnessing the seemingly endless smoke trails of anti-air rockets and countermeasures filling the sky ultimately leaving you in utter confusion asking "what the f#@k is going on?!"

When I was in, I had no problem jumping from planes or helicopters. Had no problem dangling out of them. ...But getting sucked out of one and being unrecoverable was an oddly-specific fear of mine. This game came out around the time I was at war, so this hit home.

I cant believe they never made a part 2 to this game. I played this endlessley till the servers went down. This game was ahead of its time. I hope you guys have a nice day.

Initially this was the first time i played this game was back in 2008....my first real job.. first real pay.. got my self a DVD... but not so hot on the graphics card... only a AMD Athlon processor, 2gb GeForce 7300 GS AGP 8x and the ram was 2gb DDR2 800Mhz with 500gb SATA HDD... ran the game with lag.. but wanted to play the game.

I honestly bought this game and an entire PC set just because of this trailer. No regrets. I used to be in top 100 with Air and one of my clanmates was top 10 infantry. Beautiful times. It's almost ten years. Also, thanks, Chris.
