An 'aria' I composed for the Myles Yaksich film ALBATROSS performed here by fabulous soprano, Liv Redpath. The strings come Budapest and the piano I recorded in my studio. Here are the lyrics: MY BELOVED OMEN Mio Adorato Auspicio ELUDING NIGHT’S FOREBODING Che Emergi Dalla Notte YOUR TOUCH, YOUR SMILE, YOUR SCENT OF ROSES Il Tuo Tocco, Il Tuo Sorriso, Il Tuo Profumo Di Rose YEARNINGS FROM LONG ...
Thank you for re-uploading this! <3
it sounds like a mixture of a malodica cello accordian and hurdy gurdy
Sounds like steel guitar/bass strings on a cello played with a bow
Its just like big hurdy-gurdy❤
Welp, no need to hear that again
So it's a hurdy-gurdy
beautiful song and singing ❤
Weird how everyone thinks it sounds menacing but I think it sounds very depressing as opposed to anything else.
hurdy-gurdy
perfect for horror movies
You should play mice on Venus on this
When someone is playing a Hurdy Gurdy they can stop the constant rotation and convert the motion to back and forth. Is your instrument designed to do this as well?
Yo Thom I found you a new instrument bruv.
So an electrical pedal hurdy gurdy without drones.
I think it sounds like the hope of a fisherman when there's no land in sight.
how often do you have to tune it? Is it easy to tune?
Very nice! like a crossbreed between a Hurdy gurdy and Glass harmonica. It's interesting how the mechanics gets involved in the overall sound of the instrument
😢😢😢😮
I wonder if you can get vibrato by rapidly varying the pressure on the keys you are pressing?
I like how horrid it is. It's like it's an instrument that wants to hurt you, and it doesn't care. It's not going to pretend to be a lovely thing with a dark secret. It's just this horrible, miserable, angry, bitter, hurtful, tortured sound.
I really like the general vibe of this instrument. Its "tortured" sound adds a level of melancholic depth I've been searching for in bizarre instruments for uears now.
this or just nails on a chalkboard ... I'm a musician and would choose the blackboard or just keys with no strings. Very interesting video though and a big thumbs up on video and you talking points.
I can't imagine this being a pleasurable instrument to listen to, but surely has a place in horror movie's background music/sounds.
Kinda Steampunk
Great the sound of nightmares!
What a raw, painful sound. It isn't pretty by any stretch of the imagination. But it *is* beautiful, in all the ways painful things can be.
This gives me anxiety.
😂 awful
I see! I can make a whole new instrument, right? Why didn't I notice that before?
Chris Nolan Batman every five seconds
That sounds awful.
Cool concept, but it seems like this one was calibrated/damaged specifically for use on horror movie soundtracks. I know it failed to catch on, but it's hard to believe anyone at the time of its invention would have presented *that sound* as coming from a proper musical instrument.
It's a hurdypiany
Get Radie Peat one of these
Grifter's Bone had one of these if I recall
Surprised John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page didn’t use one of those while recording some zeppelin tunes 😅
It's like a poignant accordion
It's almost pleasant
WOW! never want to hear that again.
Sounds like a kid who just got a violin for christmas and has no idea how to play it.
1:07 to hear it played
Sounds like a bagpipe with sleep apnea.
Fantastic sound! I'm glad I heard the Wheelharp here because you can barely hear it in the film "Devil May Call"! They should have used it to much better effect.
This instrument is an escapee from The Island of Misfit Toys
Hans Zimmer iria gostar disso
I could see Radiohead using one of these.
Wow truly amazing!
It sounds like the pain of every living creature being turned into a song, it's nothing less than extraordinary
