What Fulfills You? (307) - Becoming Who You Admire: Designing a Life of Purpose and How Mental Role
#307: We're all on this journey of figuring out how we want to really live our life and how feeling fulfilled plays a role on all of it. The reality is, we'll never have it "fully figured out", but as most will tell you, simply having an idea of which direction you want to go in will help you start.
Sometimes, even figuring out which direction you want to go in may feel tough. In this case, writing down a few role model examples can help you work backwards. What about these individuals do you aspire to embody? The way they speak and hold themselves? Their values? Maybe how they have a fulfilling career path?
On this solo episode, Emily Elizabeth shares her thought process on becoming aware ...

Only 3 criteria. 1. Be a true friend that you would want to spend time with it even if attraction and sex were not involved. 2 Somebody you can be seriously vulnerable with, understands and accepts you for your authentic self, and allows you to be seen and heard. 3. Conflict resolution skills.

I’m a retired guy who was also married young for 17 years, then divorced. Many similarities to your guest’s story. A person doesn’t get to know themselves until sometime in their 30s. I’m now a relationship consultant in Thais Gibson’s program. She teaches, and it was obvious to me during my life, that it’s super, super, super important to know YOUR NEEDS. The root of most unhappiness is not getting your needs met in some fashion. However, it’s also important that your partner know their needs. Then, you need to know each other’s. The source of most disagreements are misaligned needs among the partners. Sadly, most people don’t know they have needs, let alone know what those needs are. However, I can’t emphasize how important it is to go through the analysis like we do in her program.

Avoid women at work and NEVER be in a room alone with a woman. Have your phone set to ignore women after work hours. Do not respond to or acknowledge women in public places. I tried for years to make it work, emphasis on I. When you match that with working with your partner, it didn’t feel like love to me anymore.
