Architecture is fun!! ….. I came from a poor Blacktown family (2003) went to Western Sydney (studied bachelor of construction 2004) got my first job 2008 …. Made my first million developing Blacktown 4-plex (2012) retired 2020 (Covid) decided what will be a fun way to end my life (pilot) or (Architecture)?? Choose UTS … Architecture for fun 🤩… if a designer called Prada puts her heart ❤️ into a design spends 90 hours making a custom piece BUT no one buys it!! THEN fffk it!! she will wear it herself!! SAME IDEOLOGY!! If I spend 200 hours designing my own duplex then … spend 12 months building it USING MY OWN builders licence!! if NO ONE wants to buy it!! THEN fffk it!! I will rent it out for the next 5 years ….. Like the “House of Prada” I am going to turn my 2 & 5yr old children into great designers, hopefully 🙏 50yrs from now!! Nabila Design Studio will be a well known design house!! if not me … my children and my grandchildren will have amazing life experiences 💋……I spend 3 hours every night 5 days per week teaching my children to draw ✍️……….(2024)
Hello , nice video. Just wondering if tourist can come to the SDE building? Or do we need to do some sort of approval pass in order to visit SDE building?
SDE is quite an open space design. Anyone can visit the building. The only places you won’t have access to enter are the classrooms

I'm really excited to join this University for my masters, like it is a goal for me to get admission in NUS from my 1st year. Now I'm in my 3rd year and I'm really working hard to make my every project best and get a seat in Nus. And the day i get admission there lets meet up man. 😄😄

Hey Harry, does NUS have a grade requirement in order for me to enroll? I've read that you need to be a graduate with honors in order to get in. By the way, I finished my Bachelor in a University in the Philippines. Thank you Harry!
Hello, you don’t have to graduate with honors but it can sure help you get in easier. I dont remember the requirement being too harsh, but of course the better your grades the higher chance you will be selected amongst the other candidates

Hey Harry. Thanks for making this video to help students like us. I had a question , actually few questions. Can you list down the 10 questions that are generally asked in these type of interviews? And Do you have your letter of recommendation template that you can share? Do these universities require statement of purpose? last but not the least, what is the song that you used in your video at the end?
Hey, a few questions may be “why did you apply for this uni?, which architect inspires you?, do you have any working experience? , why do you like architecture? ….yes I had a few letter of recommendation which my referrals wrote themselves without following a template. Some uni requires statement of purpose. I remember Sydney Uni and UCL needed, but can’t remember if NUS needed.

Yes u are able to visit the faculty but some classrooms may be locked, best time to visit is during Archival Exhibition events which is when student works will be exhibited around the faculty for visitors to view.

Yes you need to submit ur GRE or something equivalent.
@@harrylam6559do we still need a gre score. Even most American unis have made it optional now and some don’t even ask for it now
Hi Harry, thanks for this video! I just have a question about the bachelors degree you took at Sydney before applying at the NUS. Was it a 4 yr degree? Because here at the university of Auckland, the b.arch degree is only 3 years, while NUS seems to require a 4 year degree to get into M.Arch
My BArch was 3years at Sydney university. A 3yr BArch degree from Auckland should be fine too.

@@harrylam6559 just another light question, what's the common 2D and 3D softwares that you and maybe the most of your clasmattes use?? (Here, most of us use sketchup for 3D and actually i want to continue my master in NUS, hopefully )
@@shindybe sketchup is used by the majority , Rhino is also used. Photoshop, autocad, illustrator are also used for 2D

hi, did you have to come up with a portfolio for undergraduate admission into NUS architecture? (e.g. to bring for interview) if yes, do you have tips on what to include in the portfolio?
Hi, I did my bachelors degree at USYD, but I know that undergraduate in NUS doesn’t require a portfolio, however having one will greatly increase your chances of getting accepted. You can put anything design related, like your drawings, photography, design skills etc
I believe it’s your choice of including a portfolio or not, but you should double check as requirements may have changed.

@@harrylam6559 Hi Harry, I am now studying architecture at Monash and wanted to pursue Master's at NUS. Apparently, Monash only offers 3 years Bachelor's, does NUS require Honours degree?

Hello, thanks! Yes NUS Masters program is a great option, and known for their thesis works. AA, UCL etc are also great options which some of my friends from my bachelors have chosen them instead. 👍

Hello, there isn’t too much different between semester 1 & 2 except perhaps the choice of professors teaching for that semester.

you didnt graduate yet? i want to go there too. fan meetup! wow. so intimidating NUS. ill work hard and be tough brave for NUS, my new dream and motivation in life and to get up. where did you go for bachelor? where you based out of? are you domestic or international student is it affordable for both types of people? how long was the planning process to go there? im starting now. i was too afraid to pursue NUS but now i think who cares, in this life, make it happen.
Haha good luck! I went to Sydney University for Bachelors, before that I grew up in NZ for 18 years. Planning for NUS wasn’t too hard, however planning to enter Singapore could be challenging during covid times as there’s quite a few documents to fill in to enter. But other than that it’s alg! 😁
