Kove 450 Rally takes on ORBDR section 4, SunRiver to Sisters, OR
Today the #kove450rally and I take on the #orbdr section 4, from SunRiver to Sisters, OR. We run across a wire cable to give us a #flattire just as we start to catch another rider, some crazy talcum, flour dust that was a foot deep. This all on the way to #dorkintheroadcampout to start a great weekend on the bike. Don’t forget to reward yourself with an amazing #pizza at #boonedogpizza in Sisters!

A couple of years ago I was stepping out my back door and suddenly I looked up and seen this black bear running toward my house from across the road where there is no woods, it's a school and a big church and a small subdivision and then the highway and he/she comes running up toward my house and runs passed my house and goes straight thru my back yard where I have four dogs so I go running back there gonna try to keep him from attacking my dogs and he just kept running and went straight over the hill into the woods behind my house.....it was scared to death poor thing! But it was a lot bigger than this one!

the real question is how did someone get so many miles on a landrover that the diff bearings went. that's amazing.
@@Ramdodge582 luckily the bearings are still fine. The other garage put in the wrong seal and didn’t tighten the pinion nut causing a bad preload and a ton of slop in both differentials. Luckily the owner only drove it about two miles home before towing it to us. It’s all fixed up now. Thanks for the comments!!
Whoever worked on those differentials didn't set the preload on the pinions.
@@michaelfallis2953 after they changed the seal with the wrong one they didn’t tighten the pinion nut. This caused the pinion to be very loose. Luckily he just drove a few miles home before towing it to us.
That loose and no leaks 😮

Rover needs some new bearings..... Classic or Disco? When they replaced the seal they should have replaced the pinion flange.....

I soaked them with penetrating oil at lunch. Then I was very careful to move them slowly until they broke free. Luckily I didn’t just break them off in there. 😎👍🏻

Yes! The bike was almost all stock except the skid plate, hand guards, and mirrors! If you’re going to ride rocks make sure to upgrade your skid plate. Check out MoleculeMotoSport.com for the best one I’ve found so far. They also make a great front ABS relocating part.
@@crashymoto what about all the other issues people reported , liked the full venting when its hot (you are riding in the desert) did you encountered these issues ?

Thanks, very informative and detailed. At the beginning you said allen wrenches 4 and 6. Where did you use them? What is it needed to open screen filter?
Sorry. You’re right I didn’t make that clear. I used the 4 hex for the bottom four bolts of my skid plate. The 6 hex is for the oil fill plug. The 13 socket was used for the screen filter plugs and the reverse opening pliers makes removing the screen filters easier and won’t damage the O rings. Hope this helps. How did you almost run out of gas with that bike? 😂
Sorry. It was before I was using the rear tank for fuel. Thought I might use it for water but I need the total amount for fuel now. Check out my short to see how much it actually holds. 😎🤙🏻
Can you clarify if the fuel balancing system operates simultaneously for all fuel tanks or if it functions independently for each tank? For instance, if two front tanks are refueled, will any fuel be transferred to the rear tank? Thanks dude. Love your hair
The whole system is a gravity fed system, so it should head to the rear if the fronts are filled however, the rear fuel cap does not have a good breather on it so it might not let fuel head to the rear so easily. I noticed that the race bikes had Ventos on the rear tank also. This might allow for a fuel to be transferred between front and rear more readily. The fuel lines are pretty small therefore it doesn’t transfer very quickly. So you can’t just fill one tank and expect to fill the whole bike. But it’s fast enough to fuel the engine. I hope this helps. 😎🤙🏻

Excellent video. I just rode the Gemini Bridges trail last week on my new to me Husqvarna 701. Glad I didn’t try those trails you guys were on. Those are way beyond my skill level. Gemini Trails was just right for a newbie old guy. Moab is just an incredible area.
