As a Marine who served in Iraq 04 and 05, a lot of what you are saying is exactly what I and many other fellow Marines went through (going through for some still). I pray I get to go back into the Marines as a Naval chaplain so that I may help them with much of what you said. Yes, war has had an effect on the Marines but not all Marines let it hurt their future outcomes (fruits) because some of us have Jesus Christ in our hearts (roots). I was a Norse Pagan in my 8 years in the US Army, I love how Chaplains just want to help, the absent of judgement is very rare for service members who follow a faith that is considered "Pagan" oy Polytheist in general - I actually found this faith while I was at Fort Benning (Moore) in 2014 when I was training as an Infantryman I honestly love learning about all faiths: I will chant in a Buddhist Temple, I will listen to an Imam, perhaps we all have a piece of God that we can share with each other... under the alliance of our nation, in our mission to defend our home Thank you for this!!
