Просмотров 12 тыс.8 лет назад
In 2014 & 2015 his car was provided without cost by its owner to a PD for use in promoting positive police-community relations. It was equipped with 1988 period equipment but also complied with current emergency vehicle standards. At times it also caught overflow police calls. This is the dash cam of an emergency response run to a call for help. The car was retired in 2015 with the retirement o...

Absolutely Beautiful Patrol Car. Great Horse Power For Its Time. And The Stance Gives You A Hardon 👮🏿💪🏾
CooL
Do you have this unit still? Or one like it?
What department was it with?
Is that train going to the next rail yard?
In my rookie year in 1990/1991, I was, assigned to one of these. Handled great and had much better acceleration than the Crown Vic's of the time...Sure takes me back seeing this.
That would such a trip to pull over for the sound of sirens and then see a 30 year old car whizzing past you with flashing lights.
The very first police car I was issued was an 89 Caprice. Great car but it was in 97 when it was issued so it had a lot of miles. Being an FNG I wanted it to look good. Cleaned it up like crazy, both outside and inside. I learned a very valuable lesson about vinyl bench seats. In my zeal to make it look really clean, I Armorall'ed the crap out of the vinyl bench seat. I learned that Armorall and vinyl bench seats are a very bad combo when running code and trying to take any type of corners. You end up looking like an Ewok trying to hold onto one of those speeder bikes in Star Wars, sliding across the bench seat....
As a former owner of a 95 Caprice LT1 9C1 This is a COOL AS FUCK !!!
I been looking for a 9c1 is this for sale ?
Sold in 2018 to a buyer in Missouri
Did I hear a qjet moan?? 😂
Thats my daily ride...fuck yeah
much better than today's lightbars
Anyone else catcht the young gen cop pressing the horn on steering wheel in beginning. Common since Ford integrated siren modes into horn when sirens were activated. God i miss the old 9c1s
Horn ring has existed for decades in sirens…back to the 60s.
Gooooot damn this car was used in 2015 still????? Holy fuck
Its simple but gorgeous
Old light bar still looking good on today's vehicles.
Classic Detroit steel splitting traffic
it takes police forever to come around here 🤓
Those cars had an authoritive growl in that engine !
Florida Highway Patrol used the same light setup back in the 60's, 70's and early 80's. Then they switched to the JetSonic for a while.
Put a jetsonic lightbar and will be awesome new cars with old lightbars fits better
Wow that’s absolutely awesome, something like this is almost mandala effect for the drivers on the road. Makes them feel like they got transported through a wormhole in time or something 😆
Reminds me of Smokey and the Bandit
Uh no, those were pontiacs
@@nightwolf883 "reminds me of" not "hey that's the same car"
@@happyjack880Damn he got smoked
Never pass on the right
I mean that's awesome but I think if I was in front of this I'd have a hard time knowing if it's legit or replica/show car

EUFAULA, ALABAMA
Good call. The car was out for a community relations day and emergency help was needed at a call.
I think this car was the best looking police car of all time. It has an aggressive, authoritative look to it. Unlike any police cars today.
Yep the caprice and the crown vic are the most aggressive and timeless looking cop cars the box caprice as well as the mid 90s body style 9c1 and the 1998-2011 crown vic p71 best cop cars ever and they both sound great especially a lt1 9c1
Dodge charger
Yeah. Sadly that era is gone.
Sweet sound of a carbureted 350 V8
Gary Martin 86-90...werent carbed...that was throttle body...TBI
@ Douglas Baker...WRONG! Chevy's weren't injected until '89. '77-'88 were carb motors.
@@M21L35 wrong
@@dougbarker31 The 1988 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 our agency used at the time was a 4 barrel carbed unit
The 9c1s you could either have the standard tbi or 4bbl Quadra jet
He was heading towards Dixon Lumber and Carbo Ceramics. Around 04-05 I worked that route running from Smithville to Eufalla every other day. We used to mainly run U boats on that route, b23-7 units
I bet a few were asking "How bad is this city if they still use a 1988 Caprice for an emergency call?"
The car was actually in better shape and lower mileage than most other police cars. It did generate a lot of looks and conversation though but that was it's main purpose.
That's an awesome looking caprice 9c1. I'm glad it served the community almost 30years later. That just shows everybody how strong the old B body style models were. I own 2 myself. :D
Actually the 86-90 Chevy Caprice 9c1 models were among the most powerful and strongest patrol cars of American Policing. If you ask most veteran officers' from city police departments around the country about that style of caprice, a smile will appear on their faces. Mostly because they were built like tanks and they served their departments very well. Sometimes almost 10 to 15 years later.
89capricewhite I don’t know about the most powerful but they were tougher than anything the military had lol they were really strong cars they wouldn’t die
This is likely a show car that the department has kept, and they decided to go to a call with it
That's insane that they still used a 1988 Caprice in 2015.
It's a police promotion thing by the owner, not an actual response.
