    Great idea. I had to use a grubbing axe that is at least an axe you dont mind blunting and potentially breaking. Bamboo roots really are tough to get out. The wrecking bar is a great idea as is water pressure. If no pressure hose, I reckon its worth soaking the ground prior to working. Good advice.

  • @billdavis3957
    @billdavis3957 Месяц назад

    In my opinion the roots will grow back in a year. The bamboo plants on the other side of the plants will grow and push down the fence in a few years.

  • @rufiorufioo

    Yeah so I have absolutely a massive patch of golden bamboo roots to dig up. Have a excavator coming eventually to rip them up. I will use my wrecking bar for the smaller roots on the outside diameter of the patch.

    Great instructions, gave me the confidence to replace the steam control myself, but misses the obvious… first try easing off the broken steam handle before disassembling the coffee machine - this could save you a lot of work (as it did me!)

  • @blacktap5089

    The power saw method does work. I even use a blunt blade. Removing bamboo from containers and the ground. Cut down the bamboo. Dig as much soil away to start then start cutting away at the roots. Use force to pull up the roots from the soil once cut. Recheck the cleared area for stray roots. It’s always a hard job. With the pressure wash you make a mess and mash up the form of the soil.

    Seen my Bamboo send roots out 60 feet under ground. The horizontal root comes in about 9" sections ,each capable of starting a new bamboo system all by itself. Trick is to lop off a bamboo stalk about 3-5 foot high and within 30 second pour a half teaspoon of Roundup into the "cup" of the stalk. That will kill the root for about 5ft in each direction. Diesel, gas or bleach will kill the stalk and the 18" long section of root on ether side. The best mechanical removal method is a strong tractor with a 12" deep plow. Or cross cutting the area with a trench digger after stalks have been cut.

    My son just completed the removal of clumping bamboo using this method. The bar actually bent! It was very heavy work but it took about 3 hours. The area was 2 ft wide by 3 feet long. I planted one single bamboo 4 years ago and that is how much it spread. I tried the salt, vinegar and soap method to no avail. Now I will tackle the papyrus which is also very hellish in its agression. My son will use the same method.

    I had exactly the same model from new and it had no such retainer ring. Also the screws on the back needs a T20H driver as the screws have a tiny central pin. A simple star driver will not fit

      depends if the original one left broken parts and the spring closer part inside or not... if bits are left inside on the spindle the new handle won't be able to go as deep on the spindle as it should and will therefore in turn break off easier...

    • @enthusiasticone5133
      @enthusiasticone5133 3 месяца назад

      The machine from new had never been repaired before. I searched two solutions, the first was a tear down, the second was to simply pull, which I tried to, and it worked. There was no clip holding it in or any broken pieces.

    • @huzcer
      @huzcer 3 месяца назад

      @@enthusiasticone5133 yes. that's what I'm saying though - it's quite possible that the old spring retainer part of the old handle will get stuck inside on the spindle and if that happens you need to take the cover off the sides to remove it. (which is actually very easy anyway and takes only 5 minutes). to be honest it's a design flaw with the stiff spindle and plastic knob handle parts.

    Hi there, How are you? I saw your videos, your video quality is good but not properly SEO. Your SEO score is very poor. That's why your channel is not growing organically. SEO means Search Engine Optimization. I think you understand, for views, subscribers, and comments your video should be ranked on top of RUclips, Proper SEO that means keyword session ( low competitor keyword selection) can help your channel to rank on the top. Thank You

    I have two questions if anybody has the time to reply then very much appreciated. My machine broke today, the steam lever was stuck on the ON position, I was able to return to OFF and have since ordered a replacement part. Did anybody find that the lever was really stiff? Will replacing the leaver provide the correct leverage or do I need to consider buying an additional spare part? Cheers Dan

    • @huzcer

    You have the best review of this! I have a question, I want to do one of these in a back corner of my fenced in yard, I have been given permission by HOA for it to be flush/fully down in the ground as much as possible to give it an inground look . Is this possible? Basically same as yours but much lower to step in to. What problems would this cause if any? I plan to do decking around like you did to remove when needing maintenance, however if I put it right in a corner I will only have access to 2 sides, how many sides do I need to access for maintenance? And if I DO need all sides accessible how many feet can I get away with from my corner fenced area?? I have a very small yard and it needs to go in corner
