Hi Jaco, thanks for your message. The A1 is fast right across the board with recycling from 0.05 sec to 1.2 sec at full power, which is quicker than similar powered Nikon/Canon speed lights. With the included Li-ion battery there isn't the usual delay that is found with traditional speed lights. The reason no f-stop calculation us given is because it all depends on what accessory is being used and whether the light is set at wide or narrow focus. We've already sold through a large number of these to professional photographers and had nothing but positive feedback, which speaks volumes.

In reality, for those using the flash professionally the cost is entirely relative and can be offset against business tax using the AIA. In terms of performance the A1 is absolutely amazing and when paired with my D85O manages to keep up with 9fps without an external battery pack and it doesn't overheat! Unlike conventional speed lights the A1 also features a built in modeling light. I've been using my A1 for over a week now with the CTO kit on order and will probably order a further 2 A1s to give me options when shooting on location. It's a fabulous product and clearly intended for the professional market only and is priced accordingly.
