I'll have to be embalmed. My wishes are my late wife's urn and myself intact to be flown back to my family's plot in Glasgow, Scotland where a portion of my father's ashes will go when his time comes and paternal grandfather had done with a portion of his, my paternal grandmother and my youngest paternal uncle's entirely. The other portion of my both my paternal grandparents' ashes are buried in Arlington National Cemetery. My father wants the same when his time comes I'll likely be flown from West Virginia back to Scotland where my father, my grandfather and I were all born, Glasgow in my father and grandfather's case, Edinburgh in mine.

It's so silly they insist on embalming in order to have a viewing. It's not required. Embalming is only necessary if there will be a unusually long time before a funeral or if the body needs to be repatriated.

My 32-year-old youngest daughter ended her life March 2020 and because of covid we got to see her but we had already decided. Or I decide if I was not burying my kid ever and so we knew we were going to cremate her. We talked it over with her husband. He said he'd never had a conversation with her about that was good so we got to see her 3 days later then she was cremated and we Read her notes she left her Husband and she put in her note. I don't want to be buried well. We didn't see those notes until 8 months after she had already been cremated. because of covid she died in March we sent her ashes back to her. Home with her husband for the time being and then 6 months later we had her funeral and we had all picked out a particular chests or boxes. Or things that meant something close to her as an outdoors person she was given to her husband and put in a chest that which was a. Favorite of hers and he had it cleaned up and that's where he has her in Pennsylvania and her 3 siblings. Each got like a tea lamp ceramic for ashes and they all have her in New Jersey and her brother has her a Colorado and I had a artist make a Box out Of 3 different 2:54 types of wood and had a very nice plaque put on the outside of it. And I got my share of her her . Her husband wanted to scatter her ashes. She was a rock and ice climber and there was a place in New York that she loved to climb. And about A year ago I asked him ? Are you going to scatter meggies ashes? And he said well it sounds like a good idea of the time. But he did left her in the chest at their house of he eventually sold the home and moved into an apartment but I would I personally. As her mom would never scatter her ashes I would never give up one bit of her I would never bury her. I would never scatter her place that I know I would never be. I like having her in my home. It's a part of her it actually is her and it makes me feel OK. I treat it like it's a grave sight I put flowers out for her. I have her photos of her happiest moments in her life when she ran marathons or hiking and Peru over the day of her wedding so yes scattering. Ashes not my idea of. Well I would do with one of my own children and pretty obviously. Her husband must have felt the same way that he just didn't want to and get rid of the physical part of her. It's hard I don't know how people can scatter ashes. I don't even know how a parent people can bury their child. I have 4 children. She was my youngest and I had always known that I would never ever ever bury one of my children. So I was happy that her husband was so catatonic at the time that he really didn't know what he was saying or doing and he said whatever we. Wished it was fine because they had only been married 3 and a 1/2 years and I had her for 32 years. That's my scattered ashes story. She has never been scattered if her husband chooses to do with it. I'm all for it I think she would. Love to be scattered in the mountains of New York. It was one of her most favorite climbs. II don't think he'll ever do it now. I don't know I rarely speak to him. There are no children involved so that was a godsend for me
