My Master's is on improving the design of point of care devices. It's very helpful for me to see point of care in action. Watching this device work gives me a bit more confidence to continue to work on my design so that it can be possible to get more results from a single finger prick test. I know it would still be second best to having healthcare professionals directly involved. But in cases where trying to get a proper laboratory test and have it professionally interpreted by the GP can cost too much time, whether waiting time or travel time, a fit for purpose point of care device might be just good enough to point the patient in the right direction and improve their chances of making a decision that aligns with their long term best interests.

    1. Injection vial cleaning technique is wrong. Just a single wipe in one direction with swab is sufficient. Not as in this video backwards and forwards several times. 0.46 in the video. Introducing potential infectious material from outside the vial cap across the injection draw site. 2. Z track prevents back seepage of medication and blood. 3. Depending on the medication administration instructions. Some do not recommend massage after. Otherwise very good video.

Please everyone do the aspiration. Don’t listen to the comments that say not to do it. You are here watching a video because you are probably not medically trained, and the worst thing you can do is inject into a vein and you wouldn’t know if you don’t aspirate. And as far the medically trained that say not to do it. Why not. Besides the reason being the CDC says its not recommended anymore. CDC lost its credibility in 2020 and probably even earlier but especially in 2020. Aspiration causes no side effects and it takes 1-2 seconds and allows you to verify you are not in a vein. So stop being retarded already

no rubbing after subcutaneous injection. however rubbing or massaging is a must for a Intramuscular injection. how about that?

it is no longer recommended by the World Health Organisation and the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention. Assorted reasons given include the absence of large vessels in the deltoid area, increased pain, lack of evidence in favour of the aspiration technique, and auto-disable syringes (which usually do not allow aspiration) do not appear to have been associated with increased adverse events in mass campaigns.
