Works for pre hinge too. Just shim before you set after backing out.
Screw four blocks on the jambs of the door that will be screwed to the studs. Shim it where you want it, screw it, take the blocks off. Casing will hide those holes.
I don't think there's a better way than rolling the miter. I would pick trim with a profile to hide it better.
Also if you cope and scribe your inside corners like you’re supposed to you wouldn’t have to be a hack like this
@@KP-oc8ne if you’d look at that piece you’d see that it is coped.
This won’t work bc if anyone kicks it or bumps into it the scree will for sure kick out of the face and the board into the wall bc nothing is behind the board now ! This is what we call hack work !
Shims people everything needs shims
Very cool
Wow…. Wish that always worked
Or just cope your base like an actual trim carpenter
@@I_USED_TO_READ_BOOKS it is coped
Best tip,❤
@@7628739 thanks!
Bravo ! Hats off !
@@TheProdigalSon_777 thanks!
The coop thing about building cabinets is that you don't have to do it.
@@JackOffAllTrades I’d love to have a cabinet shop and be able to build my own for sure!
Brilliant
Either someone didn’t sand good enough or the tape in that corner is bubbling, or both

Why dont you cut crown on the flat? Comes out perfect everytime
@@joshuavallier4636 easier and faster to cut nested. Time is money.
@Tntradesman fair point lol. I'll cut nested if it's pine or poplar but if I gotta custom order a hardwood I'll cut flat. Just finished an 18 unit 3 story apartment complex job.. yeeeesh.
@@joshuavallier4636 nice! Yeah there’s definitely a time and place to cut on the flat. Pretty much everything in my area is paint grade poplar or MDF so I’m cutting nested all day.
💯👏👏👏👏👏🇺🇸
@@dustinkrebs8229 thanks!
I'll give you one trick I use sometimes but I don't usually do it until the final out if the door isn't functioning properly because we have different Crews so maybe I didn't install this door but on the final out I need to make sure it's working properly so I have 3 inch screws that the heads match the heads of the screws that are in the hinges so I'll take one of the screws out of the hinge usually the top hinge and drive that 3 inch screw in the hinge and that will pull the whole door in the direction I needed it to go and it will support the door way better than a nail through the wood that the hinge is screwed to. Especially with those heavy solid core doors a 3-inch screw going through the hinge all the way into the jack will give it a lot of strength give it a try sometime and see how it works for you
@@timtheprojectman3973 yeah I’ve used those as well, they work really well.
My pee in my toilett disapears when i push the button... is my toilett a portal too? I dont know. Thngs out of stone has no funktion... why will be there a portal?
that's a great idea every little thing that speeds it up makes it better
@@saltybuckeye absolutely!
What works better is apiece of foam placed in the taper of the drywall behind the first piece. I usually use a piece of foam you find in packing. Works better than svrews.
@@kennelson5096 yep as long as you remember to do that before you nail the piece on.
You’re copped cut is out of square.
@@nicholaswilson5558 I can assure you it’s not
Yes, yes...But that cope isnt square....
@@hepparade the cope is square
Hahahahah. Paint and wall prep didn't quite look ready for trim. That mdf base wont hold together forever. Anyone how has used mdf knows this. Shims behind is the correct way
@@manuelitoservantes3145 of course shims are best, this is a way to fix it if you forgot to shim.
Sick!
@@kenjhnson thanks!
Looks like the leaf on the right is also hingebound. But definitely warped
I've Ben using these screws for years finally starting to see them little more in the field work great for hanging doors lots of things
Yeah they’re awesome for hanging doors and adjusting reveal.
Noice! Thats amazing thank you
Thanks!
Cool idea, but a little concerned about the paint blister above it. I would pop it before doing any repairs below it.
Agreed!
I came to see if anyone else had seen that.
That's a blister in the corner tape.
Or just lay a 5/8 shim ( which is a small piece of the base you are using )under the missing drywall. Way less time and way cheaper Z
@@tommyluke6407 yeah that’s the best way, if you remember to do it before you nail it on.

@@tomdabomb3457 thanks!
Best trick is don't nail it low. Keep the nail up near the top of the flat. Or throw a little spacer in behind it before you nail it
@@kevinshafer4296 always best to put a screw or nail behind it beforehand. If you forget like I usually do this’ll help ya out in a pinch.

@@davegordon6943 thanks!
Why doesn’t the screw just unscrew out of the baceboard?
@@williamevans2389 it has reverse threads up near the head of the screw. So when you run it backwards it keeps the screw inside the base.
