Sewing a men's fall flannel Simplicity 1544
Hello today I making a fall flannel for my husband simplicity 1544. I used a Red yellow and blue plaid by Eddie Bauher from Joanns. He is a size 42 and I sized the shoulders up a bit and tried to take some fabric from the arms as it was not to his preference he enjoys his sleeves to be long. I used orange buttons for this shirt as well to give it some more visual interest. Thank you for watching

Is it STILL summer? Sewing a Watermelon dress
Просмотров 742 месяца назад
Hello today i'm making a summer themed watermelon sun dress using butterick 5209. I also embroidered ants across the midriff for some end tongue in cheek character to the dress. This was a easy beginner friendly pattern. I highly recommend if you are just getting started on clothes. I changed the bust are from what was in the pattern to include bust darts. This is a reproduction pattern from 19...
How to paint acrylic on your car and make it last
Просмотров 112 месяца назад
I painted a "Stitch" on the car previously and it has lasted multiple summers and monsoon seasons. I live in a dry air climate 115 degree weather and barely get rain so maybe test it before you do it like with an inconspicuous circle. Anyhow this is how I did it :D If any questions leave them down below. This Zapados has lasted all summer so far but next time for an opaque color ie... white or ...

I made a 1950s swimsuit dress from a reproduction pattern simplicity 8139. I tell a few summer nostalgic stories. I like most about this pattern is the modesty without being to much fabric. If I were to make this pattern again, I would change the length of the stomach area to add an inch it gave me a wedgie XD The top is nice the girls feel secure. I dont have any plans on making the coat for t...
Conversational Heart candy Dress for Valentines! How Sweet!
Просмотров 296 месяцев назад
Hello Happy Valentines to you! Today I will be sharing with you how I made my Valentine dress for this year. I went with a Conversational Heart candy theme. I decided to mimick the typical pastel colors of the candy hearts. I made a plaque for a belt but decided against it last minute because it just wasn't what I was looking for in my garment. If you feel inspired I'd love to see your Valentin...

Follow me on my journey to make three different costumes come to life in two weeks before Halloween. I have never been asked to make my husband a costume and of course we couldn't leave out the extravagant super last minute outfit of Luz Noceda from owl house (but of course the titan form) or my other daughter asking for the Vague Harley Quinn? WHICH ONE!? but alas such is life in the eyes of a...

Yes from the spool of thread go through both silver/metal thread holders. Down and around the tension knob clockwise. Then to your left over the tension wire and then under the metal piece that sticks out like a L. Then up to the thread holder that moves up and down when you sew. The thread goes in from the right and out the left side. Then down through the spiral wire just to the left of the tension know. Keep going down through the spiral wire just above the needle. Then through the needle. Hope that helps.

I have this sewing machine. My husband found it in a pawn shop and bought it for me. I have used it for all my sewing and it's the best machine I've ever owned. Great for heavy duty sewing. Hope you enjoy it.

i’ve got the same one! my great grandma’s. luckily these are class 15 copies so its easy to find attachments and parts, but I’m either threading it wrong or having tension issues because the thread won’t stop bunching. i can only find the 950 manual 😭 love it so far tho!

Yes mine seems like it has some issues with threading as well.

You are officially motivating me! I will take that 30 min sewing to heart, I tend to think I need huge chunks of time to sew, I spend more time organizing my sewing items and area then actual sewing. Then I'm done for after organizing and walk away. Thank you for this post! I am encouraged to get sewing in small bits of time!

Definitely I really like the 30 minute rule because then I feel like I have to force my self OUT of the sewing room. Which I don't do but if I am feeling annoyed or mad at my machine or project I can just come back later. You can get loads of stuff done in 30 minutes! Better then sitting in front of the TV.

I have trouble with drawing curved lines (like the ones to cut the scull top off) I bet taping a piece of string in the middle to the forehead, then around the sides & taping again on the back, woukd make a great guide & youd be able to make ajustments before tracing & cutting to make sure the sides were equal

    • @MintGreenSewing
      @MintGreenSewing 11 месяцев назад

I feel like that sounds like a great idea it was definitely a little wobbly for me too. Maybe if you have a protactor like the measuring tool you could flip the skull upside down and put the one side flat on a table and then mark away by turning the skull instead of the pencil so no wobbling 😊. Or if you don't have one of those same method using pencils tied next to each other kind of like how other youtuber sewing channels mark seam allowance when they can't find the seam guide. Let me know if that makes sense I hope it helps. 😅

I actually got the idea from Amazon because there's a pleather bag for $70 and I've had it on my list for a hot minute but I took a look at my dollar stores and I was like bingo! Upon further investigation I found other people have made these before but only after I had did it 😅

Yes! Such a spooky vibe too 😁 and you can always borrow a purse strap from a spare purse. The dollar tree one was a lot easier to cut into as well.
