The history of this hymn makes it even more poignant and meaningful. I knew it was Dutch in origin, but I didn't know until recently that it was sung by Dutch Protestants to protest Spanish tyranny, including a ban on Protestant worship, hence, "We gather together." I love your heartfelt and beautifully done rendition. Everyone is pitch-perfect, and the tempo strikes me as just right.

This song is original Dutch, written in 1597, after a victory over the Spanish troops. We sing it on a day similar to thanksgiving; Dankdag voor Gewas. I didn’t know it was also song in the USA. Love from the Netherlands.
