Puch Haflinger 🐴 - Introduction @ Swiss Army (1960)
The development and history of the legendary Steyr-Puch Haflinger off-road vehicle goes back to the years 1956 to 1958. The Austrian Armed Forces were the first major customer to purchase a considerable number of these vehicles back in 1959 and saw them as a virtual replacement for the enduring “Haflinger” mountain horses.
In 1958, the Swiss Army also requested two Haflinger prototypes as test vehicles. After a lengthy evaluation phase with numerous troop tests, a first series of Haflinger small off-road trucks was procured for the infantry in June 1961. Also as part of Armaments Program 61, the Swiss Army ordered a second large series of these off-road vehicles in 1967.

FW Emmen: Der Unterschied zwischen geschulte Flugzeugmechaniker/ -bauer und Boing Boing Monkey Pizza Flipper. Heutzutage hat <10-20% der Boing Boing Mechaniker einen Maschinenbau/Blechbau Schulung. (!!!) "Einfache" arbeiten 3-8 Wochen Eingangsschulung. Komplizierte/Anforderenden Arbeiten/ -Stellen max. 3 Monate Schulung/Training. Qualitätsprobleme sind so vorprogrammiert. (?) Would it be possible to weld an airframe instead of thousands of rivets?" Of coarse when you put it in furnace afterwards and give it a T3 treatment....
Too bad it's not in French or in English.
@18:13 Optische Täuschung. Die kolbenmaschine sieht wie einem V10 aus....

Why didn't it have canards? Isn't it a Mirage III S?
What a strange idea to test a anti-tank missile on a mountain. Did they think they would be columns of tanks on the Aletch Glacier lol ?
More likely they’ll just hide in the mountains. They made millions during World War II selling Nazis war materials in exchange for valuables They looted from other countries.
You really think switzerland is rich because of this? They got a top20 industry worldwide.
Well guess were the nazis bought their stock pile of fuel from at until the war declaration? Good ol‘ american oil fueled those tanks driving into poland and france. And americans made good money with it.
Dont know where your poor informations came from, but at least a lot of exNazis worked for the US so they were able to build their space programm and stealt fighters...
POV you invade Switzerland and get domed by a ww1 era vet with his k11
Grenades were a self defense weapon. Not the main anti tank infantery weapon.
Very nice video! Thank you for choosing Hawk. One was left in museum, Finland bought rest. They were all modernised and are in use of Finnish Air Force as we speak.
Splitterschutz ZERO
In Gebirge ist Splitter Schutz sinnlos . Klein wendig kein Gewicht. Als Muni und Granatwerfer Transporter sind die Geräte genial.
I have one 😁

We still have one
14:02 Why is he shooting without aiming?
and violently jerking around the mg😂
He is not aiming with the machinegun sights, but with optics similar to mortars using aiming stakes for indirect fire.
@@panosgeorgantas3525 That's interesting, thank you for the information.
@@panosgeorgantas3525 yeah still doesn't explain the unnecessary arm movement, it's not like its a gatlin gun and the recoil would end up in your shoulder / upper torso. They where being dramatic 🤣
The MG51 can be set to fire irregularly. This means you don't have to aim very precisely.
the backround music is some kind of warfare against my ears😮😮😮😮
1:12 Darth Vader telling the civilians how it's done.. 🙂
A typical Swiss army officer of that area! The tone and posture still makes me sick!
Interesting film considering the Swiss’ neutrality. They were very smart and lucky for not entering and having to sacrifice they’re boys into the meat grinder of WWI, and later WWII.
Very intresting, that was filmed in the vincinity of Metzerlen-Mariastein, the place has barely changed.
thanks a lot for your insights, very interesting 👍👍
Super ! Danke !👍🏼
What type of motorcycle is this?
Seems to be a Condor A 540
The solo machine should be a A680 Universal. The sidecar is A1000 Universal. Those were built from 1943 to 1946. The Condor A580 had a boxer engine and was developed 1944/45. The movie was done in 1943, so it should be a Universal. It‘s however strange to see the writing Condor on the bike with a Universal V-Motor.
How have the Swiss not totally flattened their country by now?
why would we do that?
we accidentally flattened a huge chunk of Liechtenstein's forest and a ski resort there
Thank you so much for this great and precious video.
Do have prepared one of the first C36 for engine exchange during my army service in Lodrino, canton Tessin. The work involved removing of the Hispano-Suiza piston engine, which was produced by Saurer, Arbon. Wonder, how many C36 piston planes are still operating.
Do you have any more hawker hunter footage?
Vielen dank fürs teilen! Hervorragendes Video. Spannende Einblicke in längst vergangene Zeiten.
Why don't they use RATO for Fighter Jets on Light Aircraft Carriers🤷♂️

Was there any AI program improvement of the film quality?
Don't think so, film was much higher resolution I think youtube might've screwed it up a bit.
@@abdou.the.heretic Bro, from my experience, YT always does it. Some tricks to avoid it do exist. But I am damn sure that there was an AI improvement in the SPECIFIC film. I also do film editing. Perhaps the dude that did the editing had access to the original film. Still, some editing is evident.

Why did Swiss AF choose F-5E rather than Mirage F1?
They had both. FA-18 replaced Mirages, and soon F-35 will replace FA-18. F-5 still flys.
@@Betoniporsas75switzerland never had the Mirage F1, only the Mirage III
@@chlu556 Have i said Swizerland had Mirage F1? 😉 I meant Mirage III and F-5.
The procuring of the Mirage III ended in a big political scandal (for Swiss standards) because of huge cost overruns (caused mostly by special demands like the integration of an american A-A missile), so Dassault was on the defensive. Plus the F5E promised to be cheaper, battle proven and readily available.
@@markusstudeli2997 We in the Netherlands had our own Dassault scandal but the other way around with Prince Bernhard bribed by Lockheed. He had to give up all positions except as WNF Chair.
What is interesting is that Switzerland avoided language barriers by mobilising volunteers or grouping soldiers during training with their own language. Like at 16:38 we can hear them speaking French or in Alpine footages we can hear them speaking German or Rommasch. Unlike the Austrians during the 1st World War that just did a general mobilisation without any elaborations.
is it a 9:55 Rommasch or Italian?
@@Watcher649 Italian, Because we can hear the word "Posizione" Or other Latin alike pronunciations of words, in which is hard to understand or even hear because of the sounds of machines covering it. However with this simple word said we can tell that its Italian. The canton of Graubünden is almost the only Romansch speaking canton in Switzerland, that's why its only the 4th national language in Switzerland. If it was spoken by two cantons (majoritarily) It would be the 3rd national language behind French and Infront of Italian.
@@Watcher649 But there would also be the possibility of it being Swiss German. Because there is significant changes and differences in the Swiss German dialect. But I would still believe it to be Italian.
We will ignore the fact all the modern equipment was paid with Nazi gold.
Buddy, The "Nazi Gold" Money didn't endured a proper funding of the Swiss army during the Cold war. Like you expect The Nazi gold to pay Switzerland everything in 100 years ?
@@UtilisateurAleatoire No they transitioned to being the international bank of despots, dictators, foreign tax evasion and criminal organizations.
