Did not work for me. I will never buy Bose again in my life.

So every time i try with the power buttons or multifunction button and hold it for 10 seconds it doesn’t work.I tried to go to the btu.bose website but everytime i try it just says ‘uh oh’ and to try again.This website has been the same for the last 30 minutes

You are a boss!! Thank you for this. I have seen so many other posts talk about doing this reset by pressing the power button - you are the first one to mention using the multi-function button and that was the trick to bring my Bose back from the dead! Thanks a million!

I tried it with multi function button for 10 seconds followed by power button and it worked.. power button was not working for me earlier..

OMG!! This worked for me holding the Power Button down. Thank You Thank You, I was getting ready to trash this speaker (which I Love)

OMG. I just did this while pushing in the multi-function button and disconnecting power. "Bleep" power light can on! Genius and now appears to have beenresurrected. Much thanks!

Seems to happen to me when the battery drains fully. I leave it plugged in and only after 10 minutes or so will the charging light turn on. Shame this seems to be a design flaw as so many others are having the same issue

Your description of the solution would have been more helpful if you demonstrated with the buttons you referred to, instead of just using the speaker as a prop.

I tried both, holding down the multi and power button neither worked. I then went to my PC, downloaded the Bose update app, followed the instructions and it worked. Thanks for saving my friend the money of replacing it. He was going to throw the speaker away. I just love RUclips! Thanks again!

Yay!! I'd tried everything suggested in other videos, including updating the firmware, which took several tries. It still wouldn't work, I'd tried holding the multifunction button, etc... I'd just about given up hope until I watched your video! I used the power button as you suggested, and voila! Thank you so much!

Multifunction button Bose colorsound

Boring.

Garbage product. I bought the Soundlink Color ii in 2021 and it immediately needed a firmware update using the Bose updater. After the update it only will charge if plugged into an Apple Mac computer. It will not charge any other way even when using the supplied cable plugged into a wall adapter. FRUSTRATING! After I let the power completely die before charging again it will no longer power on when plugged into the mac. It will only light up the orange light once and go dead again. The same trick is not working this time and after many unsuccessful attempts over a month of trying to get it to work I threw it in the garbage where it belongs. I'm very tech savvy and this was a pain in the ass to get to work right out of the box. The average person would not be able to figure this out and give up long before I did.

THANK U FOR POSTING THIS!! I had gone through 4 or 5 vids before this AND the bose website and was about to give up. Clicked this with no hope left. IT TURNED ON. lol!

Updater didn't work on a mac for me (kept disconnecting) but worked fine on Win7.
