My Umbrella Parade quilt is one of my earlier quilts and quilt patterns. I can no longer take all my quilts to show off at events, but they may spark an idea for others. We are going to be at the Great Wisconsin Quilt show this September 5 - 7. I will have many quilts and their patterns at the show. You can find us in booths #103 -104.

Presto Avenue Designs will be at the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show in just a few weeks. I will have my newest quilt, Cute Cubes, in my booth along with many of my colorful quilt patterns. Great Wisconsin Quilt Show - Sept. 5 - 7 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin.

In this video I explain how to make the inner and outer borders of the Twilz quilt. I include a few tips that I consider whenever I sew borders on a quilt. The Twirlz pattern PAD186 is available on my website at a reduced price through the end of August 2024.

Getting patterns ready for Wisconsin

In this video I introduce my Presto Lanterns quilt and give some information on making the quilt. If I remake this quilt I may make a change in my fabric choices. I really enjoyed making the quilt and love the quilting by Kathy Yull. The quilt pattern, PAD144, is available on my website.

One of my favorite quilts is this Pineapple block quilt which I made in 2003. This block is a great way to use some of your fabric scraps to make a colorful quilt. For several years I have collected information and pictures of quilts I have made. For some quilts I have taught classes or written patterns, and I already have written information on them. Other ideas I have seen in magazines or learned in classes. In this video I show how I organize my ideas for possible future quilts.

I have some good news about my arm and my healing.

In this video I continue work on the Twirlz quilt. If you have the Twirlz blocks sewn and the Zigzag blocks sewn, you are ready to cut a few plain blocks and sew the inner quilt together. The Twirlz quilt pattern is available on my website.

Two days before I broke my arm, I made this video on tips for adding fancy stitches to your fusible appliqué. Unfortunately I have had to put this project aside for a few months. I hope to eventually write a pattern for it. Maybe some of the information will be helpful to others now.

I am now 3 weeks into my broken arm saga, and thought i would update a bit.

On June 21, 2024, I fell and broke my right upper arm (humerus). Since I am right-handed, my quilting activities have come to a stand still. I wanted to let everyone know incase they wonder why I haven't released any new videos lately.

Ribbon Trellis and Garden Trellis are 2 of my quilts. The quilt designs use both pieced and applique' blocks and were inspired by fabrics. If you are sometimes inspired by a fabric collection, this video may give you some ideas on possible quilt designs using a combination of piecing and appliqué.
