    I downloaded the manual (sept 2023 edition) to check the bleeding procedure. Pg 31-32 states to loosen the screws (don't remove them)press up switch, bleed air from system, tighten screws. None of this up & down bleeding as seen in all of the home videos.

      We (QuickJack Europe) have consistently followed our preferred method for bleeding the system, but as an independent company, we are unable to officially advise or alter the manual according to the manufacturer specs. However, QuickJack USA has updated the manual, and the latest version aligns more closely with our recommended approach :)

    As a heavy industries mechanic I was wondering why one one pulled the bleeder screws for the initial filling of the hydraulic system. You did it exactly the same way as I would do a system bleed on the QJ.

    After you bleed it this way, when you added more ATF to the pump, did you only put in the amount that was lost when you were bleeding? Or more? Also, when you depressurize the hoses when putting away, does the ATF stay in the hoses? It all doesnt drain back into the pump does it?

    • @quickjackeurope
      @quickjackeurope 8 месяцев назад

      Q: when you added more ATF to the pump, did you only put in the amount that was lost when you were bleeding? Or more? A: Before bleeding, all hydraulic lines / part of the hydraulic cilinder etc. are empty and filled with air. The amount of fluid you add after the bleeding, is the amount of air you replace with oil. (roughly its 2L reservoir + 0.3L after bleeding) Same Would be when doing an oil + filter change on your car, when you fill the oil to max and start your car first time, you have to refill some oil to reach max again, because the oilfilter was empty (air) and when started first time, filled with oil. Q: when you depressurize the hoses when putting away, does the ATF stay in the hoses? A: Yes, the hydraulic system is a closed system so the oil will stay in the hoses and frames (cylinders) Q: It all doesnt drain back into the pump does it? A: When lowering the QuickJack, the hydraulic cylinders pushes oil back into the hydraulic power-unit reservoir. When the cilinders are completely retracted, your reservoir will be full with oil, but the hoses and cylinders will still have oil. hope this helps!

    Just got mine here in Japan (I think the Japanese seller has a connection with Costco). Everything had already been done, all the connectors to the hoses with teflon tape, air-cylinders pressurised and the hydraulic cylinders bled. Fluid in the tank too. I have no idea if QJ are doing this at the factory now or it's being done by the Japanese seller but it saved me a whole bunch of work. :) No evidence it was a customer-return unit.

    In the QJ manual, it shows the air cylinders being filled before the bleeding process. Does it matter the order of this? Also, the manual says to fill the air cylinders with 40-50psi. On this video it looks like you're barely getting 5 or so. Or am I reading it wrong? Great video otherwise and this bleeding method is so easy.

      @@GrabberBlue5.2 You don't need to do that fast. if you place some rubber blocks under the rear side of the frame, the highest point will be the bleeding holes. once you stop pressing ''up'' the oil will not flow out anymore. 99% of the air is gone and just reassemble the bleeding bolts without any rush.

    This is simpler than the USA version for sure, and make sense, because you push the fluid out, and fill the lines at the same time. It's like a brake flush procedure. Great job guys.

    What if you want to use a single ramp, instead of both. Will the pump work, just connecting one single ramp?

    • @quickjackeurope
      @quickjackeurope 2 года назад

      This won't work: The power-unit is designed to equally flow fluid out of both connections, when only one port is connected, it won't flow oil at all.

    I had an online chat with BendPak about the topic this video shows. Putting a Quick Jack an a 4 post lift. I was told no, cant be done. The person I was chatting with I assume did not understand my question or was reading from some script. My Quick Jack is the BL5000 unit so it can only lift 5000 pounds. The 4 post lift I'm looking at is the HD-9 which is a 9000 pound lift. I do not see the problem and this video put out by Quick Jack and demonstrating on a Bend Pak 4 post lift is perfect. Both products have the same parent company.

      The thing is that the middle of the runway is not designed to hold that kind of capacity.

    • @RacerX531
      @RacerX531 2 года назад

      As in the field of engineering, products are designed with something called a safety factor. A typical number used for this is twice the rating. Or you could calculate a free body diagram and input the length, width, height, and thickness of the runway and use a common steel, then you could calculate the weight where bending will occur. I'm sure BandPak can input the information in CAD and let CAD perform an analysis for this situation. Seeing this video is over 2 years old, I'm surprised there are only 7 comments and that BendPak has not seen this and had it removed. By letting this video exist is kind of saying this is acceptable.
