Silt fence install with Engcon and a ripper

Here is a little timelapse of installing some silt fence with our mini, engcon, and the ripper. It worked quite well and went pretty fast.
Blowing Straw
Просмотров 5074 года назад
I did a little time lapse of blowing straw on a commercial rain leader project we finished up. We are using our new to us Reinco straw blower that we recently bought. It worked like a champ...
Digging footings with Cat 305.5E and Engcon tiltrotator
Просмотров 5 тыс.4 года назад
This is a little video of us starting some footings for an addition. We had to tunnel the septic line, and the engcon came in handy for that. The ground was quite rocky, so it was hard digging and everything held up great.
Cleaning up the bank of a swale with Cat 305.5 and engcon tiltrotator
Просмотров 6064 года назад
Our customer wanted us to lay back the banks of the drainage swale on a part of his property so it will be easier to mow. The engcon made this job much easier, and left a nicer finished product.
CAT 305.5e2 with Engcon Tiltrotator
Просмотров 1,9 тыс.5 лет назад
We sold our old 304 and just bought a new 305.5 with an Engon Tiltrotator. This thing is super handy, and look forward to seeing what else it can do for us. I was using it in this video to clean up a backyard, I am tearing out some old bushes and a hedge row.
Cat 259D pushing snow

I am clearing drive lanes and loading dock areas for one of our snow customers. They run 24/7 unless its a blizzard, so it is important that we maintain everything so they can come and go at anytime.
Losing some dirt in the backyard
Просмотров 2365 лет назад
We dug a pond out back for this customer. Instead of hauling the dirt off site, he wanted me to spread it out back to make the yard a little smoother.
Eaton Fuller 8LL swap in R Model Mack

This is the first time towing with the new transmission since the swap. It is a huge improvement over the old 6 speed. It shifts much faster and has a much nicer top speed.
Moving dirt and filling with track loader

We are digging the centers out of some bio ponds, the builder wanted to lose as much dirt on site as possible so I am taking dirt from the pond and filling next to the house to burn up what I can.

top speed with the 9 speed?
Kind of a dumb question but an Amish kid wants to know what is the most powerful engine you can marry to this? As a 5th wheel logging tractor.
I have got to do this with my pond. A little under one acre. Whole thing is mucked in... only 2 feet deep or so now. Only have a JD 280. Will have to just be patient and take my time.
V blade is king !!
Don't get in front of him cause he will not be able to stop.
This truck stops very well…
Mate this is one awesome vid but do you think you could make another driving vid like this but with you using the clutch every time you shift?! I have always wanted to see a driving vid like that mate hope you can make it for me mate! Cheers!
The style of driving for American class 8 vehicle ( trucks ) all use the double clothing method... you depress the the clutch go into neutral depress the clutch go into first depress the clutch go into neutral going to second and repeat whether you're upshifting or downshifting
@@gregorywomack9416 that’s an awesome style of driving I was just hoping that maybe you could make another driving vid like this one. Super interesting!
@@dennyalfro9832 that wasn't me driving lol... but I am a certified diesel technician and been working on those trucks professionally since 04
@@gregorywomack9416 OH DUH LOL SORRY my bad my friend lol didn’t realize it till right now lol!🤣🤣🤣
@@dennyalfro9832 no worries man haha
Just bought a 94 mack rd688sx 123 foot crane truck... never drove 1 before so i ask... y are you using the clutch? Dude i boufht it off of said float the gears.. n only use the clutch for 1st and reverse
8ll lmao its a 9 speed dumass
It’s an 8ll....
Do you have a Jake brake on this truck like the R model Mack's to good old school trucks thanks for the video
We just added an engine brake when we swapped the engine out for a 350.
Not trying to bust your chops… but all we can see in this video is you driving a bobcat “slow on the driveway; but not on a Monday, definitely not on a Monday.” The effort is definitely appreciated, as I want to understand how to build a berm using a Bobcat but your vantage point is all wrong and all we can see is you pushing dirt; as opposed to incremental progress or the end result. Take it with a grain of salt, as I make this comment as a coward who has never posted a RUclips video. Just some constructive criticism. Good luck your RUclips career!
What kind of seed did y’all plant before blowing the straw?
What bell housing did you use?
I don’t know off hand, the guy we had swap the trans for us, found the bell housing. Ill see if I can find out for you though.
Your left knee and hip will thank you years from now.
Just found your channel. I have equipment videos as well if you’re interested. I subbed!
Gosh those cabs are small Cool video and thanks for the ride along. Truck sounds great!
Yes they are i am 6' 4" and love the old bull dog's but not comfortable for me, no knee room
Looks good! 👍
So you're running a Harley rake with low flow hydraulics, right? I think we're about to buy a 259D and I was afraid we couldn't run many implements with low flow hydraulics.
We have standard flow and run lots of different attachments. I think you’ll be fine with standard flow vs. high flow in my opinion.
@@redfordexcavating3834 Thank you for your reply, especially on a 2+ year old video. We bought our 259D today, we're excited about putting it to work.
4K5994 You bet, and congrats! They are great machines, you will love it.
What model year is this truck?
It’s a 1987
@@redfordexcavating3834 It's interesting how this Mack R-Model has it's fan mounted to the ceiling. Most R-Models that had fans had them mounted to the dash.
That engine sound good!
Was the old 6 speed really that bad? Or is the 8 just a better trans overall?
It was pretty bad, the new 8 speed made a world of difference.
How weight do you usually haul?
We typically haul 10 tons since its a single axle.
How can you listen to ear buds when you're in that truck?? Don't you want to hear that engine sing??
Chillest job on earth
Nice work!
What’s that attachment usually run (price) I like it!
It was just shy of $40k.
Redford excavating I am looking for mack for sale?
좋은데 니 머리 때문에 안보여. 카메라 각도좀 바궈요
i dont think that works with this attachment for hot dogs
LOVE IT!!!
Would love to see more encon videos
Dirtman707 I’ll be making more for sure. It’s a handy little gadget!
What engine it has?
Makov motor mislim da je Endt,Maxydine ili E6.
Here in MA, I work for a contractor per deem/part time, and he has a ‘73 R model 6 wheel dump truck and he swapped it with an 8LL, since I’m still technically a noobie I’ve learned how to really up and downshift without the clutch in that truck even thought I got my Class A with a 10 Speed International tractor and a trailer. All around fun truck that old R model is, I love how loud it is and how smooth it drives. Yours sounds really nice
Thanks man, it is a fun truck to drive!
what is your top end speed at at what rpm ? im looki g to buy a 367 with the 8ll transmission im wondering whata the top end apeed ill be able to get thanks
I had it up to 90mph the day we brought it home after the swap, it was turning about 2200rpm. On average, we can cruise 70mph turning 15-1600rpm. Its much nicer to drive on the highway now.
Redford Excavating if you don’t mind me asking what exact 8ll did you use ? Also what gear ratio is in the differential and did you leave the pto to manual or converted to air ??? I’m looking to do the same swap to my 285....... also if you have an idea who I can check for these parts that would be awesome.
I know its the high hp or torque rated 8ll, I cant remember the exact model # off hand, but ill try to find it for you. We have yet to check what ratio we have in the rear, ill see if there is a tag. The PTO is still air operated, but the fella that installed it sourced the new pto for us. As far as getting the trans, we got ours from a friend that was keeping it as a spare. It needed a couple gears, but we had it gone through and its been great. I'm very glad we did the swap, it has been so much nicer to drive over the old 6 speed.
A little skid steer with a hammer could break that CR6 up pretty quick
Agreed, however the contractor we were working for didn't want to spend the extra $$ for us to get a hammer. We weren't going to eat the cost, so we just scraped away at it.
Like the video...I have the 108” Virnig v-plow and really like it. My only issue is sometimes when it catches and trips the cutting edges I get dirt/debris caught between the cutting edge and the plow. The problem is that will change the cutting edge angle and causes gouging. Do you ever have that problem? My machine is a JD325 with wolf paw tires
Hmm, I cant say I have ever experienced that before. We only push paved surfaces, so I don't know if that's the difference or not. Are you pushing unpaved surfaces at all? I have hit plenty of manhole covers and had the edge trip, but I have never experienced the problem you are describing. Sorry I could be of more help.
Yep, some of the driveways are gravel. Also sometimes get off in the grass and curl some sod back.
That would be my guess as to why you are having the issues you are. I watched it closely this past storm and didn't notice any debris stuck in between the blade and cutting edge.
Why do you use clutch coming out of 6th gear, just wondering.
Sometimes it’s tough to get it out of gear without the clutch, so I use it on certain gears to make it easier to shift.
Really amazing truck, loved the one my grandfather drove for Chemical Leaman. What engine does she have?
Thanks! Its been an awesome truck for us, we love it. And it has a 250 in it, we will eventually bump it up to 300-350.
Best trucks ever
So nice to see somebody making as few movements as possible so many operators spin around 2 and 3 times lol
We try to tear up as little as possible, makes for less work fixing the yard on the back end haha.
This wouldn't be an old Cumberland Farms tractor would it?
It was a tractor that was converted to a dump truck. I don't know if it belonged to Cumberland Farms at one point though.
Where'd you get the transmission from, if you don't mind me asking?
We got it off a buddy, he had one lying around, so we bought it and had it rebuilt before having it installed.
If I was the developer, I wouldn't like the operator smacking the new foundation with an 8,000 pound machine (@8:40). I'm guessing he's the owner's son playing around or perhaps the owner's former employee.
I’m trying to find an old R or U single axle Mack
He I got a r model id sell
Cassandra Townsend where are you located. I’m looking for an R model.
Have a gold Mack rd e6-300 8 speed mack ,mack rears , mack beam suspension, tank of a truck had original low gears , had it re geared now will do 75mph no problem ..solved my issues before only about 50-55mph probably alof cheaper than transmission swap
Why the swap?
Because the 6 speed really lacked top end speed, and it was a bear to shift on a hill with a load. The guy we got the truck from had swapped the 6 speed in place of the 5 speed that it came with originally. He lived down on the shore where it was relatively flat so it didn't matter, but where we live it was a struggle. The new 8 speed is light years better all the way around. We love the truck and plan to keep it so we figured the swap would be worth while.
Do you ever see any single axle Mack’s for sale up there? I want one for a variety of reasons but mostly because it would be fun to drive. Thanks for the info on the eight speed
Not often unfortunately. It took us a while to find ours, but if I see any pop up ill let you know.

How does the 259d preform in snow removal conditions?
It does awesome, we have the bar tracks vs. the offset blocks so it sails across blacktop. It will fill the vblade and push whatever is in front of it. I love it for snow and couldn't be more happy. Having a heated seat is pretty nice in the winter time as well.
I'm enjoying your videos. Keep up the great work! How does the 259D do in the snow and Ice? Does that pattern track seem to work better than the C pattern tracks that are commonly on most CTLs?
Thanks, I really appreciate it! It does quite well in the sown & ice actually. I wasn't sure how it would be at first, but we have been very pleased with it. The bar tracks are super smooth on blacktop which makes the machine pleasant to run.
Redford Excavating Awesome! Thanks for info. Looking forward to some more outside the cab footage. Nice operation you have!
Anytime! and ill try to get more outside footage for you. I appreciate it sir, we try our best!
awesome! i need to video my skid steer work i have the same piece of equipment , we use it to build our pools really fantastic machine.
