Hey Brenda! In regards to aeration, I am describing what happens when you "stretch" the milk to create foam and micro foam. Steaming alone is simply setting the wand in you pitcher and letting it heat the milk via steam. You know you're aerating when you hear the hissing or paper-tearing noise. Great question!

this is a really dumb question i know - but when you're talking about aerating - do you mean the steaming of the milk? just trying to understand the process
