In this video, we visited the town of Guardamar del Segura and explored the historical archaeological excavations of an ancient human settlement.
La Fonteta is an important archaeological site located near the mouth of the Segura River. It was a Phoenician settlement dating back to the 8th-6th centuries BC. The site includes remains of defensive walls, houses, and artifacts that provide insight into the daily life and trade of the Phoenicians in the Iberian Peninsula. This area played a crucial role in maritime commerce and cultural exchange between different Mediterranean civilizations.
