After a relaxing 3-mile climb in shaded forest up Broadside, dropped into the gem of a jump/flow trail called Full Sail. What a blast! Started the Christmas Valley descent in the rain, but things cleared up midway down and the slippery granite became grippy again. Nice way to end a spectacular three days of riding above Lake Tahoe!

If you're looping Christmas Valley from TRT (via Luther Stairs HaB - ouch!!), it's well worth adding on the 5 miles OaB for Scott's Lake Trail (with a mandatory energy snack refueling stop at the lake, of course). The forest and meadow views up, and the endless flow down, feel like a dream sequence, indeed!

Was able to ride from the Blue Bird Lodge right up to the top of Van Sickle, take in some incredible views, then drop back down into town for some killer pizza. What a way to kick off this Tahoe trip!

A great "urban assault" near downtown Santa Cruz. It's very nice to have a forest escape so close to downtown!

Started from the Pacifica side of San Pedro Mtn this time, and proceeded to Crack Trail for the first DH. Well, after looking at it while climbing Crack Up, I decided to head back down Crack Up as a down, instead... Crack DH appears to earn its double-black rating. From there, I pedaled over to Mile Trail, the other double-black trail on the mountain. I had better luck on this one, but did walk...

As the thumbnail says, "Fun for the Whole Fam!" Started off with a session at the pump track, then found some good flow and steeps up top, and finished off with another loop around the pump track!

As the title says, "Views to Die For!!?" This ride started off with some mild techno on the Amanita downhills, then proceeded to some of the most scenic coastal riding of my 35 year MTB life. The only problem is: you couldn't look at the views! Doing so could've resulted in death...

This is a very raw, legitimate double-black diamond trail. I actually found it easier than the top of Project X, though, since I'm not that good at 5' huck-to-flat drops like the ones on Project X! I'd rather contend with steeps and ruts, thank you very much.

IMHO, Upper and Lower Tubs are the best intermediate flow trails in the Hub Trails network. (Alternator is an even better flow trail, but I would consider it a black diamond advanced run, and... good luck finding it!)

For some reason, Lily the Aussie didn't want to follow me down Cliffhanger trail. This is only the 3rd or 4th time she didn't want to go on a ride out of probably 500 rides we've done together over the last 4-1/2 years, so not sure what was up with her. With a bit of coaxing, we both eventually made it down to the lower Weir Canyon trail, though...

For the second ride of Day 3, found some black-diamond chunk to keep me entertained! Decent views along the way, too...
