The Broadcast Truck is getting closer! The wrap came out great and puts us that much closer to being operational.
We Tore the Truck Apart

It was a mess... We pulled hundreds of pounds of wiring out of the truck, ripped out walls, and made plans. Lots of work left but we are starting to see the truck shape up.

Outside broadcast trucks a lana rose house
Cool Raiders trailer. My private trailer is currently being built and fitted out for a similar purpose with personal funding. Thanks for the motivation.
How long is the front of the desk at the v-nose to the the rack if you don’t mind me asking. Also how wide is the trailer/desk
Amazing set up... Especially for a HS! I've been in "Professional" trucks that weren't as impressive... What are you/have you upgraded to for the audio console? "Jen-A-Leck" is how the speakers are pronounced, FYI...
Great stuff! Is that a Mira Express for replay? Also what type of scorebox and CG software are you folks using? Thanks for sharing always!
It is a 8 channel Abekas Mira. We use Ross XPression Studio that gives us 3 channels of key and fill graphics. All graphics we have built our self in XPression.
You guys are awesome. Great team.
👍🏻👍🏻✨✨
Are you able to store all the camera cases and cabling, etc in the trailer in between games or do you store those separately?
Most of our cases and cabling and other grip stuff is in a separate trailer along with a golf cart.
Here is an example on how this could be done in fruition. In this scenario, the defense blitzes the QB, and the QB is sacked but not until the QB tries to avoid it by throwing to the last minute. Here is an example of this conversation. PBP: Here comes the blitz, no. 14 sees it, evades and tries to do a roll out but he is WRAPPED around by the defender and he throws the ball downward and aimlessly even though he goes down---but to no intended receiver! Penalty flags fly. CC: Looks like this quarterback was trying to avoid a sack by releasing the ball to just anywhere, but you cannot purposely throw the ball even behind the line of scrimmage with the intent to avoid the sack. That would be intentional grounding. PBP: You are right, the ref is giving the grounding signal to the offense. It will be against no. 14, and that means not only a 10 yard spot-penalty for the team, but also, the whole team will have its current down revoked and the next down played. CC: I see the ref crossing the arms over his head on that penalty, and you are right---it is known as a loss of down.....the flag happened on 2nd down, the down does not repeat on the loss of down, so therefore it will be 3rd down on the offense....
Outstanding video with lots of great information. New subscriber......
@8:00 ... You talk about expression.. please how do you spell it.. so that I can get a look at it and perhaps use it . Thank you In advance
We use Ross XPression. Hope this helps.
Very informative. I'm a stage and monitor tech looking to get into this side of things. Looks fun

Wow this is nice can I get quote
Hey thanks for this. It’s really cool to see. I work in film & tv narrative and it’s very cool and helpful to be able see how other areas of the industry do an install.
Everything is great. What I miss are system cameras with manual lenses, SMPTE fiber, CCUs and RCPs at the truck. IMHP, this is the weakest point of all your production. Apart from that, it is an awesome production.
Totally agree. We are owned and operated by a high school and use high school students to run cameras, replay and sometimes even direct and produce. We would love SMPTE and Camera chains, but it’s a hard balance of cost vs actual increase in production quality for a high school. It is also hard trusting high schoolers something like that. We are certainly looking into it though. If someone would make a camcorder style camera with a built in 22x lens that also support camera control we would buy them instantly.
Hi thanks for this overview. It‘s a great BTS. I would really have liked to see any shots from the inside of the truck. E. g. when you were testing sdi connections to the press box, the other end of that radio communication. Also to me the short music bits inbetween were way too loud in comparison to the voices which really takes away a little from the otherwise great viewing experience. Still, much appreciated video!
What lighting board was being used?
Looks like an ETC ION XE20
Bad mistake on power ever if the gen is off you must do the Ground than Neutral than hots legs in that order
You are absolutely correct. That was a mistake.
Good to see you guys posting again, always such great videos to watch!
Cool to see as always but please use your camlock safely. ALWAYS connect Ground (green) first, then neutral (white) then your hots, disconnect in the opposite order. Electricity is no joke y'all!
Yes you are correct. We typically do this for safety, the generator was powered completely off as well as the truck in this case.
Great video, guys! Keep up the good work!
Really love this whole break down. Been watching this series for a while now. Awesome how your cases are all custom tailored to your needs. Honestly I didn't think about the ability to convert analog to fiber and then back to analog. I always would have thought just to use dante only.
It works great and even has a status light for connection. Great and cheap way to send audio over fiber for comms or anything you need.
Such a nice looking truck. Do you do anything for free to air broadcast or is it just webstream or ESPN ?
We are directly owned by a high school so most of our work is for the school or contracted work.
Great stuff, really enjoy the videos!
Absolutely love your videos. Keep up the great work and I hope you guys start posting more often
How do you do the first down line, what equipment are you using?
Sorry, we did not get to filming as much that day as we would have liked. We used the Ross Piero and rented it for just the weekend. Works really good and is pretty easy to use. The guys at Ross Production Services are great to work with.
Would love more on the down and distance line

Please please please when demonstarting hooking up camlock always connect your grounding conductor (green) FIRST also in reverse disconnect the grounding conductor (green) LAST when disconnecting. I AM NOT A electrician but I work with portable power systems regularly. I also wonder why you guys do not have no grounded conductor / Neutral for your truck?
Can confirm, ground first when setting up always and forever. It also looks like a gerling truck. Some of them generate their own neutral using transformers.
Yes you are correct. We typically do this for safety, the generator was powered completely off as well as the truck in this case, but should have still been connected in that order. As for the no grounding conductor this truck was built by Gerling and Associates and this is common in some of their older smaller trucks.
Also always connect to the truck first - then the generator. That way there is never the chance for a hot power cable lying on the ground.
I'd really love to work on something like this some day
This is great, how can I get one of these trucks in my country
waw i wish high schools in my country had that... The disadvantage of living in a 3rd world country
Totally confusing, could of done a better job distinguishing the two
Hey, thanks for the video! love seening content like this.
If anyone wants to work in such hitech mobile broadcasting facility as an audio-visual post production professional then in which software should the person be trained ?
Where’s hockey?
This is in Jackson, MS lol. We dont have hockey in the south
I don't know if you've got that in the US but in Europe we have git a few other intercom systems line Riedel Artist and Bolero and also a "cheap one" from a brand called GreenGo. Both very good products
Goals! I work for a small network in Texas. Wish we had that truck!
vMix great for getting started... Well it's really all one ever needs for high school sports. It also supports eight channel replay now.
genius setup. as an IT person i can truly appreciate it.
Are you using BlackMagic cameras? I didn't see any CCU's or RCPs, how are you shading cameras? If shading from the Constellation how do you like doing it there?
I wish yall posted again this stuff is great
Thanks for this info. You earned a sub. I need about 10 wireless and 16 wired positions in my church so the research is real for me.
What type of carpet do you use for the wall?
From Home Depot, called Elevations - Color Sky Grey 12 ft. Indoor/Outdoor Ribbed Texture Carpet
All this for a high school o. Wow! Impressive.
me and my brother have our first gig tonight. i am doing color and he is doing play by play.
How did it go?
let us know how it went!!
Excellent video. Congratulation guys! Awesome truck.
I hope
Great job
A really nice FOH mixer, but was it behind the glass? That's really strange.
No, that’s just an open frame. There’s no glass there.
I am interested in partnering with you in my project. Kindly contact me here or link your email please.
