@@elijahechicagobearsboyd5734 He’s correct. Phil OD’d on heroin back in ‘96, his heart & breathing stopped, and he was dead for about 5 minutes. He’s extremely lucky to be alive and not have brain damage. After about 3-4 minutes, you usually start to get brain damage, and at 5-6 minutes you’re done for.

@@SBSP02 hiding a heroin addiction from his band mates and best friends, not showing up to Dime’s funeral, recording all of Great Southern Trendkill and Reinventing the Steel in Louisiana when the rest of the band was in Texas. I won’t listen to those albums because they don’t sound the same. There isn’t the same chemistry. Phil fucked it up by being an addict and a shithead, and worst of all he couldn’t show up to Dimebag’s funeral for whatever reason and then lied about his reasons why. Just not a good dude. I still respect him, but it’s fucked up what he did to those guys.

​@@smithersoneil290 so because he was a heroin addict who recorded his vocals in a different studio from his band, he's an irredeemably awful person? he really tried to show up at dime's funeral but he was asked by dime's family not to appear, and rex told him it might be unwise.

@@blunderless Gee, I wonder why they didn’t want him there? Maybe because he wasn’t great to Dime and Vinnie and even Rex. He still could’ve been there for the family and the rest of Dime’s friends. But, you only get to go to a funeral once man. And yeah, I truly believe if they had been together it would’ve been a different trajectory for the band. I never said he was irredeemably awful, I just said he wasn’t a great human. His choices weren’t the greatest and you can’t deny that. He’s nowhere near the worst in music’s history, but he’s still not a role model I’d look up to.
