Riding my dirt bike through the historic El Camino del Diablo trail. it's 117 miles long. I started in Ajo Arizona. the trail passes through BLM, organ pipe cactus national monument, cabeza preta national wildlife preserve and Barry Goldwater Bombing range. permits are required. and must check in and then check out. I didn't see a single soul the whole way. I can't think of any other time that ...

I really enjoyed seeing the video you made and was happy to see there were some shots and comments about me. I really enjoyed the experience and getting to see such a remote area of arizona with flat desert and steep mountains.
@@randyatkinson116 it was good having you along. Randy, it was a great ride in some area of Arizona that not many people get to see
I've been there and kayaked to. Had a great time.
It's beautiful there, thanks for watching 👍
It looks like you usd a drone for some of the shots.
It would be nice to use a drone. But I think they are banned in the range. Great place to ride through.
Oh man! Would you look at that! Just look at it!
Oh yeah 👍
Gorgeous ride out there... this time of year ! Lots of water around.
Looks like you guys had a nice ride.
It's good to hear from you guys. Hope you're doing well. Yes, we had a great ride. 👍
Thanks for this great video of this part of AZ!
You're welcome Dave. Endless area to explore. 👍
nice ride Jim. Do you think a Jeep could go up that trail?
Yes, a jeep could easily get up that road.
Great ride and great video JP. I'm glad you didn't fall into the lake!
Oh, yeah " that would have been a cold one👍
Very nice video JP. That camera looks good.
Thanks Rick, I'm liking it too!
Looks like a great adventure bike road. Good time of year to ride it too! Did you do a loop to end up back near where you started? I don't suppose you have a Geo map link of the ride?
We started from the four Peaks road just off highway 87. I did the complete loop back to the start. I ended up clocking in over 200 miles with 22k ft accent. I don't have any GPX files for this ride. I'll post it on the next adventure 👍
@@jpsadventures9864 Looks like a good ride without too many surprises or bad trails. The 22K ascent must be cumulative. I don't think there's anything that tall in the USA. I'm over in Kingman so it's a little ways away but maybe worth it to take a trip, rent a room, do the ride in one day, then come home or spend another night before going home.
Yes, it was acumative. If you get a chance. Not too far from Kingman is a little town named chloride. There is a really cool loop there. From chloride take murals Rd up the mountain and it connects to big wash Rd. It will take you back down to the highway. I done did that loop on my MTB.
@@jpsadventures9864 Yes! I've done it a couple of times in my Jeep when I had it. I now ride a DRZ400S which should handle it. Great ride.
Thanks for the rip! Very fun. I'm into motorized bicycles and looking to save up for a motorcycle duel sport. I've been really looking at the Honda rally. Can I ask why you went with rally vs. other bikes? There are a lot of opponents 😅😅😅
Thanks for the kind comment. I chose the Honda because of it known reliability. The rally has the wind protection lager fuel tank.
Awesome road I live in Tucson still new to the area from Central Oregon. I am actually right by Silverbell Road In marana. I will have to find the road you are on Be safe Ride On . I will sub to you .
A-Cross Road starts off highway 188 by Roosevelt lake. If you go there I recommend starting from the staging area off of highway 87 and take El Oso road over the four Peaks like we did. That will take you to highway 188 and the cross it to enter A-cross road. Here is the Google map link. Thanks for watching and sub. maps.app.goo.gl/v5KRyNTFoT9ZrqHq7
Nice video JP .. glad you were able to retrieve the camera footage !
You and me both. That was a great ride. I didn't know about that road. Thanks for bringing me along 👍
What a great ride. Luckily Tonto Creek was not too high! That is such a scenic road especially this time of year when the desert is just greening up.Thanks JP!!
We caught the tonto at the right time. I bet last week it was too high to cross.
Damn, 2020-21 the hoards came out in force.
3 friends and I just rode it -go around the mud! Broke my collar bone before Tule well where we camped. I prefer the solo ride I did last summer it's just so isolated being alone makes it come alive. That light sand is no joke man, that serpentine section of fluffy sand and deep I call "the washing machine" brutal gnarly. Fortunately I was just barely able to ride from Tule with a busted up shoulder. Yeah I think it's just the clavicle maybe I'll go get x-rayed. Oh yeah the 450 bikes did better than the 250s that sand is relentless. I'm sure I'll do it again.
I think I know how you feel about riding it solo. Makes me super aware of everything going on. That sand is crazy too. I definitely wouldn't want to be there when it's hot. Hope you heal well. Also can't imagine riding through there injured. Although I keep thinking about going back again.
Thats a GREAT !! PLACE !!
Lucky dog 🐶 Nice video 😊
Thank you 🤗
I am interested in riding this route in the winter of 2023/2024. Did you feel safe along the route? My buddy and I would like to ride it together. I was thinking that maybe going from Yuma to Ajo one day, and then riding it the other way might be a really good way to do it. Thanks for the video! It's awesome!
I felt relatively safe. But going into it knew that if I had a major mechanical I'd be in trouble. I had most all the basic tools with me and tire repair tools and spare tube. I'd definitely like to do it again and camp along the way. It was a 9 hour day and 253 miles round trip going from ajo to welton, then hauling back on I-8 finishing back to ajo. Your idea is probably better than what I did. Lemme know when you plan to go. I just may join you guys. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Looks like you had an awesome adventure! Some cool stuff I’ve never seen, didn’t know there were structures out there. Imagine living out there back in the day! Glad you had a good time!
Yes, it was a great ride. Very interesting area to say. I liked the volcanoes too. Thanks for watching 👍
Cool video. How hard is it to get a pass to ride there? In your opinion, is the sand too much for a bigger adv bike?
The permits are easy to obtain online. And the best part is that they are free. I have seen a video of a guy riding a BMW on the El Camino del Diablo.
Good video, looks like a fun place to check out except I suck in the sand
There is plenty of opportunity to help you sharpen your sand skills on this adventure 👍
Jim, you were pretty funny in this video (about the coffee barista)
Hello just watched your hot springs adventure yes a must go to hot spring s was in Bridgeport but went to other hot springs south up the hill of 395 the t. Hot springs with about 6 pools thank you 🏆🤔 from wash state 🇺🇸
My favorite part was taking the ice river plunge
That would be refreshing 👍
It's a shame to wear swimsuits in such a wild place.
Nice Photography, nice sunset shot. Some good footage of the racers too. The soundtrack may not appeal to everybody, but the footage is pretty good !! Well worth watching to the end.
Thanks Dan. 👍
Hi 🙋♂️ thank you for sharing backpacking and biking 🚴♀️ in Sedona
Your welcome! Truly a beautiful place.
Hi JP, stoked to see this video, are you located in Sedona? This video is exactly what I am looking for in Sedona. I will be there in a few weeks and looking to do an overnight bike packing trip, maybe 50 miles or so. Most of what I have been able to find are really mountain bike routes, and while I can tough it out on some burly terrain, I am riding a drop bar gravel bike so I'd rather ride on roads an better trails. A little hike-a-bike doesn't bother me too much. I can pick up a little about this route from the video but wonder if you would be willing to share any gravel bike packing route or good roads that would get me out and back, preferably in a loop. Thanks for making your videos, just subscribed!!
Hi Chris Thanks for writing the comment. I've been thinking about doing this ride again. Most of it is gravel with a little pavement. The one thing about this one is there isn't any water out there but water can be cashed on the route. Perhaps you could join me and do the same route when you get out this way. Send me your contact if you'd like. Jim.penn@ymail.com
What is the song???
Looks like great fun!!
I was a blast !!
Hi JP😊 it's been a bit, good to see ya

I'm not sure. I know it was slow at the time.
Breath-taking place! Great video.
Thank you! It's really nice place
What a beautiful hike! and how Snowflake stayed on the hiking path is pretty cool! my boy would of been ALL over the place zigzagging ! thanks for sharing...
Thank you! Snowflake just loves to hike.😀👌
Great video. Nice hike. That is beautiful country out there. Subscribed.✌️
The landscape is very unique there. Thanks 😀👌
Very beautiful and snowflake is enjoying it too!
She certainly did! Thank you so much.
looks like a cool place
It's one of the favorites during the winter. Thanks for watching 😀👌
It looks like a nice hike, very cool seeing the arches
Margie It is. I hope Jeff and you have the opportunity to check it out. Thanks for watching 😀👌
What a coincidence that a friend and I were JUST talking about going out there. Thanks for the video!
You really can go wrong camping there. Is free and the views are nice. However it can get cool. Also close to lone pine for supply's. Enjoy your stay.
JP's Adventures Thank you sir!
Always love the Alabamas. They were in my view from the out house window where my cabin was along with Mt. Whitney. I've also seen them from above in my hang glider.
I need to go back and do more exploring . I'm sure that I missed a lot.
As you were standing there and the camera was slowly panning up, OMG that looked like a movie set and so surreal. Incredible landscape. Parts of it actually reminded of the landscape from few sci-fi movies portraying alien planets...
The landscape is incredible there for sure. You are right about sifi movies. There have been many moves filmed on that location including bonanza, Lone Ranger, star wars and many other. I just wish I would have stayed there longer to do more exploring. Thanks for watching and commenting 😀👍
Hello friend! Looks like a great adventure!
It's a fun one indeed. Thanks for watching.
I'm dying to explore AZ and Bisbee is definately on the list of stops. Looks like Bisbee will take a while though. The entire place is a vintage museum. Loved Lowel. And the Queen Mine is also a must see. Can't wait. Thanks for the preview.
Larry, you'd really like the mine tour. The whole town is very interesting. Thanks for watching.
That looked like a great hiking area! Thanks for sharing - new friend here😘
Its one hike i always enjoy when in the area. thanks for watching :)
Nice hike, it is a beautiful area.
Nice flyover. What kind of drone are you using? We have a Mavic Air.
Thank you! Yes, this was the mavic air. Easy to fly and once you learn how to set up the camera it takes some decent shots. Thanks for watching! 😀👌
