I've always had doubts about Sancho in the Prem. He just doesn't convince me. Lacks the tenacity and the confidence. While I don't necessarily think he isn't good enough to play for a big team, he's most definitely not someone you'd want to hang your hat on when it comes to big games.

Scholes wasn't a 10 when he started. He was an out and out 9. He even started games for United in that role for a period. How many strikers do you know of who stood only 5ft 6 and didn't have a lot of pace or excelled at dribbling. And who played for a top league winning side anywhere in the big leagues? Only Romario comes to mind of that era, though he was actually a very good dribbler. About a sixth of Scholesy's Prem goals were scored with his head! Scholesy's best time imo came when he actually played as an 'attacking playmaker', rather than a deep lying one. He was never an out and out 10 like a Bergkamp or Baggio as he was a very active and hardworking player, dropping deep to collect the ball constantly tracking back and breaking up the opposition's play. He could receive the ball on the half turn or with his back to goal and be sure to not concede possession. He could strike a moving ball, first time while being pressed and running onto the ball. Play it short, long, outside of the boot, without even looking at times. He had impeccable vision and very rarely failed to spot the run of a teammate. The Lampard-Gerrard comparisons are a joke. Scholes is on the same level as Bergkamp, Iniesta and Zidane.

Fair insight, as much as others can hate being bias for other clubs, we have to see for what Pep is managerial wise. Also, one thing that baffles me is, every coach is known for their way of playing and more or less it stays the same, not looking at pep in micro scale. Yes in macro scale the type of system is the same, but in micro scale dude's changing the way his team play EVERY SEASON, even within season the formations he start with wont be the ones he ends the season with. Creating new roles for players is like a biproduct of it, which can be revolutionary thing on its own. I dont think Pep is gonna be fully appreciated for what he did to football till he retires.
