My Fluval Evo 13.5 Marine - 3 Years and 5 months in
Things are going better,. Lazy reefkeeper syndrome did kick in a little and cause me some problems... But I'm back on top of things and it's looking pretty good.

The night was so clear and pleasant I had to get my telescope out... The neighbors dog barked, but I didn't look away to see all the flashlight action in their yard.. Heard some footsteps in the grass..thought maybe the neighbor, or maybe Dexter, their 100 lb Shepherd coming to say hi... then heard the breathing... definitely not a human nor dog. I think he was about 6-8 feet from me :) I breat...

Well, I've gone (maybe still going a bit) through another ugly stage...thought I was done, but nope. Looking ok now, but am still blowing a layer of green off the surface of everything once a week. I'll post a vid of the microbiology in a moment... Looks pretty ok today(Cleaned Sunday) so figured I'd share. Oh...I'm gonna go ahead and say I do not recommend the Cobalt Aquatics Neo-Therm Pro. I had some pretty good coverage of GHA, some green algae on the sand, maybe some small bits of Cyano and Diatoms(see my other vid for the microscope view), and I think the beginning of some chrysophytes...That said, the uglies haven't seemed quite as explosive as it has been, so I cranked up the flow, scrubbed everything loose to get sucked into the filter floss, then replaced that when the tan...

I'm either in a really long ugly stage, or something is wrong... either way, this is a slide of the red slimy stuff on my glass. I bought an American Optics Spencer Sixty on the 'bay for 33$, and 3d printed an adapter for my Canon T3i and telescope adapter. My objectives are 4x, 10x, and 43x, eyepiece is 10x, and I was between 3x and 5x most of the time with the Canon(some 10x)... I don't know ...

This has been a learning experience for sure. The only upgrades are the Aquatic Life Marine WiFi light and an Aqamai KPS Wavemaker. There's 27 things alive in there, and all seem to be doing well. The fish just went back in after a bout with Ich (maybe Velvet) and a 76 day fallow period. There's maybe 20 lbs of Carib Sea Life Rock, and their Hawaiian live sand. The three most important things I...

This is a collection of parts from JD (3r SCV handle halves and screw), a waterproof momentary switch from an online retailer, and a cylinder and fittings from Surplus Center. Cost.. around $500. I did have to cut the cap end ball off the cylinder and weld on a longer category 1 repair end to extend it enough to swivel properly. I built a custom clamp/bracket that allows this to be removed from...

I took a lot of ideas from loaders I've seen on the net, put together the bits I liked, got rid of some complexities I didn't, drew it up in Autodesk Sketch, made a cardboard model on the garage wall, and used an inexpensive mig welder, a cheap big box store chopsaw with a 10" metal cutting blade, 2 cheap hydraulic cylinders, and couple hundred pounds of steel to make a hard working and very du...

@ thx for answer 🤗👍! Thats rubber is not avaiable in Austria 😂👍i test another one! What do u put on the „top“ of the rubber?! It fix so good 💪🏻
@@andilaimi709 If I remember right, I just cut a piece of 1/8 ABS plastic with a hole saw, then drilled the center out.. I think it was 2, and I stacked them
Learned a lot, great video, thanks so much.
Glad it was helpful!
Can you actually do astrophotography with that mount?
Depends on the subject..The moon, sure, Jupiter and Saturn, not amazing, DSOs, no way. I was able to get some pics of the Orion Nebula, but the stars were oval. I use a CGEM now...much better(but still not mind blowing).
I remember playing around with an old black and white tv camera from the 1950s. It was a souped up version that could see pretty well in low light, at least for its day. One night, I had it outside trying to see stars with some luck. All the time I was pointing the camera while standing outside, looking at the live picture on the TV monitor in the living room through the patio door glass. From here I could see on the monitor everything my eyes could not. Then I happened to tilt my camera down towards my feet, and on the monitor I see a whole family of raccoons all gathered around my feet in silence! Needless to say I was pretty surprised.

Do you regret de-forking? Do you plan to re-fork with that go-to setup?
I think for my purposes I need the CGEM. But I really did enjoy the forks and NGC-Max for visual observation. I do not plan to re-fork and am selling the fork setup on Cloudy Nights.
I've got a C11 Ultima ('99) and am currently in the beginning stages of converting it to go-to. I wonder if maybe this is a better route, if I can find one.
I'm selling this very setup on Cloudy Nights. My C11 is now on a CGEM mount, I began my EQ journey with an LXD75 prior to that(too small for the c11). I'm still a little torn about selling this, as I really did enjoy the "Push to" with this NGC MAX/SkySafari combo... it's simpler, lighter, and has that "old school vintage cool" factor. I want to do some astrophotgraphy is the only reason I went to a GoTo EQ mount, and I need the room on my shelves.
I'm doing astrophotography as well, do you find that the fork is a limiting factor in stability, or is it more of the lack of options for modern go-to and tracking?
@@TiBiAstro The tracking was never a problem. That fork has a well made, and much larger, gear in it and a great clock motor. I guess I just wanted the goto/computer control in an equatorial mount and I went with the most economical path that got me that. I am still a little torn as to whether I made steps forward or not :) I prefer the forks from the "chasing the eyepiece around" perspective for sure. If I could have come up with a wedge mounted, fork style, goto, mount for the same money, I would have preferred that. (Pros will argue the EQ is "better"..and they may be right... But I do like the fork style better) I am under them impression I can hang a lot more gear off an EQ without mechanical interference as well.
👍
What size is your main cylinder?
Beautiful tank, thanks for sharing this. This kind of hobby can help people's free from stress. 👏👍 Sabah blessing channel
I would literally trade some of my guns for a nice garden tractor
you can always buy a garden tractor but the way things are going with big gov banning everything, you'll never get the chance to buy more "protective devices".
@@JT-cf5ol your absolutely right I finally ended up finding a nice garden tractor had enough money saved and bought it and it’s a John Deere
Looks great, what light are you using currently?
It's an Aquatic Life Marine WiFi. Take a look at my description, it spells out everything in there. I'll post an updated video soon... Lots of changes and I'm now at the tail end of the "ugly stage" (I hope!!!)
I'd add..the vendor support on that light has been phenomenal... No problems with the light, I asked a TON of questions and the guy was quick getting back to me, and very knowledgeable.
@@pbaddict1a thankyou so much!
Hi did you keep the lid on? Does this light fit on the hood?
I had to get creative with the lid... I glued it together (epoxy, zip ties) so it was one piece, and then cut the middle out of it, so there is a front cover and back cover now. Works very well, but was a lot of tedium to get it right.
What size cylinders were used on that??
These were GForce Hydraulics, 11429 and 11427 Bore x Stroke(inch), Shaft Diam, Retracted, Extended 3X10 ,1 1/4, 20 1/4, 30 1/4 3X8, 1 1/4 , 18 1/4, 26 1/4
3x8 and 3x10
Probably a good idea to put the teeth on the bucket right off the bat.
They were removable. You could take them off and put them on at will...
Oh brother, that Onan is hunting more than Daniel Boone. Check your air/fuel and governor spring.
I had replaced the engine with a low hour P220G... the oe engine had a lot of hours, low compression in one bank, and a worn ball plate on the governor. Sold the tractor about 3 years ago.
@@pbaddict1a Replaced with a 1025R?

How about you fix that engine first
Nice little tank! You should tell us about it!
I'm doing this can you tell me what cylinders you used please
These were GForce Hydraulics, 11429 and 11427 I don't see where they are available now, but they are just common cylinders available anywhere. Check out Surplus Center.. I have great luck with them. Good luck with your build. I had a great time! Bore x Stroke(inch) Shaft Diam, Retracted- Center of Pins Extended- Center of Pins Ports Weight Rated PSI Max. Very nice!! Simple, compact, and looks well made. I am currently in the process of designing and getting the materials together to build one in that same general style on my Husqvarna GT. The only main difference is mine is just going to have to use electric actuators instead of hydraulic. Your GT appears to be very well taken care of also!
a year or so later how do you support lift cylinder to upper loader arm
There's nice heavy wire hangers built in, they swing down and hold the ends up
@@pbaddict1a thanks, i just bought a used 1023e with no manual, you are a big help. Thank you!!!
@@dennisprusa2975 I'm glad it helped you!! I love this little tractor and the loader. Almost 2 years later, and I'm still super happy with my decision.
@@pbaddict1a Thanks again!!
nice bucket. you might benefit from an adjustment to your throttle governor.
Thank you for this. It was a while of searching to figure out my D120 loader instead of the fancy locker one.
Thanks this helps 👍🏽
Ok, I agree with you. Doesn't look worth the money to me.
can you share what parts you used and where to get? I want to do the same to my 1023
Amazon.. search for DC12V 4inch Stroke Linear Actuator, and any momentary DPDT switch will work. Check out the GreenTractorTalk forum.. lots of info there.
kick ass bro !!!
Playin? Fit sum work done, for crying out loud
Where do you get the kit to make it a quick attach bucket?
Any Deere Dealer can sell you the JDQA for the loader... you would have to get a different bucket, or Modify your own.. IE weld the pins and hooks onto yours.
@@pbaddict1a ffs what a bunch of bullshit
Fantastic video! Just bought a D120 loader today. Install is going down tomorrow.

Not really anything worth posting beyond this video. It's a pretty simple device.
way cool here is mine and got more builds on the way ruclips.net/video/aeSnteenTUU/видео.html
This is excellent! any chance you would be willing to share your plan? Thanks for considering.
Thank you for the compliment! I'd not be comfortable sharing my plans. While I did "do my own thing" for the bucket, bucket pivot, tractor mount, tooth bar, and lift cylinder arrangement, my frame is very similar to George of Buford's loader. His ideas for loader arm shape and hinge location gave me good ideas for starting my build. (My geometry on those two things is different and my lift cylinder arrangement is simpler, but his moving upper lift cylinder mount is definitely a better engineered solution for both stroke and force) As my frame is similar to theirs, I do think they should benefit or at least have the option to share or not. If George or his builder partner Pete are still making them, I am sure you'll find them and they'd probably help you out. I talked to them before I decided to make my own. Good people to be sure. They were just too busy to build me one at that time I needed it, and I LOVE building things, so I did my own thing based on their frame idea... You can see the Buford unit here: ruclips.net/video/t3uzhGWV6C0/видео.html (there is contact info at the end of the video)
