Our 1973 Westsail 32 had some evidence of mast compression after 50 years of sailing. We replaced two support beams under the mast, which turned into a huge multi-day project. With these beams replaced we have renewed confidence in our sturdy boat, and are ready for a big adventure to Mexico!

We had an amazing summer living on Catalina Island! The sailing around the island and across the San Pedro channel was excellent and our days were filled with snorkeling, hiking, and fishing.

We cross the San Pedro Channel and arrive at Catalina Island, our home for the summer (before we head to Mexico!). We explore both sides of the Isthmus (by land and by boat), and even see a wild bison near Cat Harbor!

We cruise down the Big Sur coastline, taking in the spectacular views of the Santa Lucia coastal mountain range. After a few days in Morro Bay, our weather window arrives to round the notorious Point Conception. With following seas and 25 knots of breeze, we sail downwind for 24 hours, and travel 115 nautical miles to Santa Barbara.

We ignored all advice, and sailed out of San Francisco Bay on the ebb, and had quite a rough bar crossing. Once we were far enough off the coast, we turned south, raised our sails, and had smooth seas on our way to Monterey Bay!

We take our Westsail out for a rocky-rolly shakedown cruise from Bodega Bay to San Francisco, and sail under the Golden Gate Bridge! We spend 2 nights anchored in the SF Aquatic Park, and spend some time exploring the city.

We recently purchased a beautiful Westsail 32. She has been meticulously taken care of by her previous owner, and we are so excited about our new adventure vessel and home! This is a quick tour from our second day as the new owners. Enjoy!

We spent the summer living aboard our 28ft Pearson Triton, and sailed over 3,500 miles. One of the most beautiful days we had cruising this fall, was the day we sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge, and arrived in San Francisco. At the end of our cruising season, we hauled out in Napa, CA.
