Yes, this was only running on one cylinder. It was a new engine with old injectors moved across from the old engine. Think 3 of 4 injectors were melted over at the ends!!

Makes no difference. Just be cautios, if the battery is faulty and has been stood for a very long period of time, then there is a possibility that the polarity may reverse which leads to the battery smoking as it shorts out. Best practice, is to use a multimeter with the battery disconnected to see what the battery voltage is. If it is negative voltage, there is a high risk of shorting.

@@Time4trucks oh wow, good answer, i didn't know that. most Porsche cars have an advisory right at the boost terminals that says no li-ion boosting. i guess that is why, because of the polarity reversing.

Hi Ben, Large parts of Salisbury Plains are owned by the MOD, and when ranges are open, or exercises taking place the staff will raise Red flags, as no go areas. Sections of the plains are public byways and are signposted for the public with 'subject to flags' There are helpful indicators at the entrances to byways with liklihood of ranges open etc. Give it a quick search for more information!

You have to push in the release tab, whilst pulling the cover off. It's difficult to remove the plastic cover fully, so pushing it up gives you ample room to attach a battery charger or jump pack.

You'll find the IBS (Internal Battery Support) hasn't been realigned with the battery's state of charge. This could be due to a faulty battery IBS system, or it could be a simple fix such as a 'hard reset' In my experience, it is always best to visit a dealership to have these issues rectified - these batteries are very unique and although they may look like an average car battery, they are far from it.

Glad to be of assistance. The McLaren charger will naturally think theres a fault within the battery as it will show a red warning - this is why a conventional charger is better, if not a jump pack. Be cautious though, if the lithium ion battery discharges to an unrecoverable point, then the polarity may reverse ultimately causing a internal battery failure and in some cases ignite. Keep these cars on a trickle charger when not in use. Otherwise you'll be visiting a dealer each time just to clear fault codes and re calibrate windows, all of this may not be covered under warranty as it ultimately the customers duty of care to keep the battery charged.
