Wow, 14 years since this show! This was my first time seeing AFI live and it was nothing short of magical and life-changing. Also, I wasn't far from where this was filmed in the crowd!

Actually, it was Dizzy Gillespie that puffed out his cheeks, not Louis Armstrong. It is still wrong even though Dizzy did it. It does effect the sound. That being said, it doesn't matter. Does he sound good or not? I'm a trumpet player (part-time-pro) and I think this is pretty good.

agree that the drumming is erratic. Probably the odd meter of the song, going back and forth from 7/8 and 4/4.

@jofx1992 i agree. and i didnt go to this show cause i thought they wouldnt really play anything from black sails or AOD, hearing ever and a day would have been great, but they didnt even play totalimmortal

Untill to this day he still has the passion to play music. And damn he can pull off the high notes with great intesity!

it's a stunning concert, but look what they've done, giving applauses in the middle of concert. That ruins the feel of the concert for sure :(

Back in the day, the point of reaching high notes was because it was an expression of wanting to bust out of the bullshit of everyday life by screaming, with the attendant physicality. And now, he doesn't have that frustration anymore, and just hits the note because that's what he has to do. I don't care how technically proficient and practiced he is, what people say about CC being back (you have no fucking ear for harmony or musical expression), I feel cheated.

@wannabeserpento99 on there website it said they were selling vip tickets and i clicked it and it took me to artist arena.com to buy them, it was like 70 bucks 4 meet and greet, concert access and early copy of skeletons in the closet

I travelled on a 9,000 mile round trip to be there in NYC that night. Had a photo with Elijah too. Amazing night.

I noticed his voice now in days sings high holding a note, but compared to back then when he had a unclear unique scream that shaked around when he sang in SG. Maybe he could gain that back, but no complaints he can sing high now.
