Добавлен 13 окт 2020
No one wants one of their favorite activities to get them injured. Unfortunately, that’s the result of playing golf for many golfers, that’s especially true for older golfers.
The Golf Training Hack System provides you with techniques to regain some or all of the movement quality that you’ve lost over time.
IMPROVING MOVEMENT QUALITY IS THE BEST WAY TO IMPROVE YOUR GOLF SWING AND REDUCE GOLF INJURIES.
The golf swing a high velocity, force producing rotation.
Even under the best of circumstances your spine does not what to rotate at high speeds with force placed on it. But, most of us play with underlying physical issues and compensations that increase the likelihood of injury.
Improving movement quality to reduce underlying physical issues and compensations decreases golf injury risk.
We will provide you with the techniques and methods that help you regain some or all of the movement quality you’ve lost over time, for whatever reasons.

Increase Driver Distance with a Simple Fix.
If you’re struggling to improve driving distance, the fix could be simpler than you think. You may be leaking power from a place you might never have thought of as a power source.
Of course, the big power producers are the rotation in your hips and shoulders as well as a long backswing. So, you might be surprised that your wrists are also an important source of power. And here’s the key point, you can leak power from your wrists at the start of the swing, even before any rotation happens.

Struggling with Golf Shot Consistency? Here’s Why Lag Helps.
Просмотров 35814 дней назад
Do you struggle to make consistent contact? If you are, one place to start improving impact consistency is by improving your ability to create and maintain lag through impact. Keeping lag through impact will help you gain more control over the clubface. It’s just physics! But without hip strength and mobility, creating and maintaining lag through impact is hard.
Golf Swing Rotation and The Fascia Spiral Line, Part Three

This is part three in our series on improving rotation by releasing tension in the Fascial Line called the Spiral Line. It would be helpful to check out parts one and two before you move to the releases in part three. The Spiral Line runs from the top of your feet, outside of your shin, thigh and hip, moving across the front of your hip, crosses the torso above your belly button and wraps aroun...

This is part two in our series on improving rotation by releasing tension in the Fascial Line called the Spiral Line. It would be helpful to check out part one before you move to the releases in part two. Fascia is connective tissue that ties together every muscle in your body. Fascial lines are like an innervated mesh that wraps around and infuses into muscles connecting the bottom of your fee...
Golf Swing Rotation and The Fascia Spiral Line, Part One
Просмотров 23Месяц назад
To improve your golf swing rotation, it’s helpful to think of muscles not as individual units controlling a joint but as system of systems that work together through several communications networks. Obviously one network is the central nervous system. But a less well known but as important network are fascial lines. Fascia is connective tissue that ties together every muscle in your body. Fasci...
Increase Your Golf Driving Distance While Protecting Your Back

If you want to increase your driving distance while reducing back injury risk, muscles in your torso need to reflexively co-contract to support your spine. That’s why we need to train reflexive strength.
Reduce back Injuries from Golf with this Shock Absorbing Posture.

Why is maintaining a neutral spine posture so important in the golf swing? A neutral spine provides protection against injury. One of the reasons is the shock absorbing effect of the “S” curve of a neutral spine.
Improving Your Golf Swing, What Pro Athletes Don’t Realize, What Teaching Pros Never Mention.

If you’ve been watching the baseball playoffs or football games, you may have noticed high profile athletes on commercials advertising snack foods and cereals. While this is nothing new, I was disappointed to see that at a time when chronic diseases are on the rise among Americans, athletes who could be influencers in helping people make healthy food selections chose a different route. Dealing ...
Want to Increase Driver Distance? Here’s Why Less Effort Helps.
Просмотров 882 месяца назад
Long drives are the result of power production. Sometimes increasing power production requires less effort. It’s just like a sprinter reaching top end running speed in a 100-meter race. Using the same amount of muscular effort developed out of the blocks would slow top end running speed. Top end speed is a more of a reflexive response to the forces of sprinting, not forceful pushes from the low...
Slip-On Golf Shoes, The Latest Golf Equipment Innovation, Is It for You?

Comfortable golf shoes are so important, especially if you walk the course. And there certainly has been innovation in shoe comfort and performance over the years. But this innovation I just don’t get. Recently I’ve been seeing ads for slip on golf shoes. What are the reasons a golfer would need slip on shoes? The first and most obvious reason is that there is some type of injury or health reas...
Struggling to Increase Golf Swing Lag and Distance? The Solution May Not be in Your Wrists.

If you’re not getting the driving distance you want, it may be that you’re not creating and maintaining lag into contact. Lag helps create the easy power and distance we all want. If you’re doing lag drill after lag drill and are still having trouble creating lag, you may be overlooking the key factor in developing and maintaining lag into impact. Most golfers understand that you need to relax ...
Can’t Stop Casting the Golf Club, This Will Help.

Are you’re struggling with standing up at impact. The early extension that causes you to cast and flip the club at the ball. Or maybe you can’t stop swaying over your front foot. Or maybe your swing sends you off balance, especially when you’re trying to hit a big drive. If that’s you, you’re not alone. Many recreational golfers struggle with these issues because they don’t have the strength to...
How to Make Your Golf Lessons More Effective.

If it’s true that getting technique instruction from a good coach is very important, which it absolutely is, then why does traditional golf lessons and instruction often fail to provide the results recreational golfers are looking for? How many golfers do you know who have improved that much after lessons or watching videos? Especially as they get older. One reason is that so much of the swing ...
If Your Golf Lesson Starts with This Warmup Suggestion, Find Another Coach.

I couldn’t believe what I saw a local teaching pro do during a lesson. He was explaining how to warm up before a round. He suggested one of the first things to do is take the club and do a wide stretching rotational movement. Please don’t start your round with end range rotations that twist a cold back. This is especially true if you have back issues, simply stretching as a warmup is not a good...
“Golf is A Good Walk Spoiled”, Even When You Ride a Cart.

“Golf is a Good Walk Spoiled.” I’m not sure if Winston Churchill actually said that. But if he did, I don’t think he could have envisioned how popular golf carts are today. If you do use a cart simply as a preference and not due to a disability, then “It’s a good walk missed not spoiled, because you can’t spoil a good walk, it’s just too good for you.” But for a golfer there are more issues aro...

Wow! Great stretch!!! Thanks
I have a routine that i follow based on the McGill 3. I also see a physio three times a week and have added some band exercise designed to deal with T spine tightness. I can easily rotate 260 without trying. Oh and i work my hips too. I like this routine very much and will incorporate it as an additional segment to my normal once daily routine. Some of what i do now may be redundant but the additional wont hurt i am sure. How many reps of the unified routine would you suggest? I am also doing speed training 3 times per week and this is hard on my back but i recover in one day.
Bruce, I can’t give specific guidelines without assessing your movement, mobility, strength and injury history. Since you are working with a physical therapist. I would discuss the routine with him or her before you start. Once you clear it with your physio. I would start very slowly before you string the exercises together. These movements should be done pain free and without forcing joints into ranges of motion. Take it slow and easy and assess how you feel. I'm glad you like the routine.
I broke my right leg twice and it is 3/4" shorter than my left....some guys take swing lessons. I have a great swing but see a physiotherapist twice a week and put in an hour a day working on my back! Knowledge and prevention come just before mechanics i think. Wish i had access to your channel 20 years ago.
Yep. Lessons don’t help when there are physical limitations that cause compensations that make it hard to swing a golf club. Fix the dysfunction, improve movement quality, that makes lessons and practice so much more effective. And reduces injuries!
Your content is much more useful than the 1000s of videos on RUclips which essentially say the same thing about how to swing the club. I have been playing golf for 40 yrs and now spend about as much time doing pre round warm up and stretching as i do playing the round. If i had the benefits of your instruction from the beginning i suspect my back and shoulders would not need all the attention. Thank you for this. Hang in, the market will find you .
Bruce, Thank you for such supportive thoughts. I’m 65 and if I knew this stuff 40 yeas ago…!! But the reality is, the information we provide wasn’t really accessible or even thought of when we were younger. The reason why I can share this with people is because our primary business is athlete rehabilitation and injury prevention. Through many years of research into sports science and rehabilitation we have learned what’s happening at the leading edges of performance, injury prevention and rehab, as well as health, and wellness. Research is a big part of what we do. We’ve only scratch the surface on this channel.
looking foward to more great content, especially in the golf swing!
very interesting!!! hope you will do more videos on this!!!!
Hi John, Yep, our nervous system is amazing. Unfortunately, so many people think of exercise as just contracting muscles and stretching. But we are, FIRST, electrical and biochemical systems. We will certainly do more videos that demonstrate how to harness the power of our neurology. Thank you for your interest! Jim
What's up with right hand grip? That's a 40 capper grip. lol

That's great to hear!!
I have never had this explanation before. This channel is seriously good!
Thanks for the kind words!
I think this is very helpful. You should have more subscribers!
Thanks for the kind words Bruce! We’ll be coming out with a website, training programs, webinars, a blog and more ways to get information to people in 2023. We’ll cover more topics regarding health and wellness too.
Very informative video. Thanks, i still move with full range exceptionally well at 76 but have had chronic back pain for years and have to work out for an hour each day and before i tee it up. Every few years it just seizes up.
Back issues are so tough to deal with. That’s why keeping a neutral spine as much as possible when there is force placed on the spine is the best chance at reducing back problems.
I am an old man now but stretch a lot which is why i love your channel. Back is a little problematic but i can still rotate in excess of 260 because of that I struggled with fairway woods but can validate your approach. For me i have stopped trying to apply a hit. Moved my ball back towards center, kept head centered, swing with my iron swing except i use hips only and arms just are along for the ride. I only run into problems when i try to muscle the shot. The key to all this is mobility. But it takes work.
Hi Bruce, Thanks for tuning into the channel! So glad you’re getting something out of our videos. We love sharing information about how we all can move and feel better. Sounds like you’re doing just fine. Most of us have backs that give us trouble, me included. That’s why we focus so much on hip and back function. And yes, hips lead the way in the golf swing. Get that right and lots of problems go away. Regards, Jim
