I really love this speech, especially as it said in a moment of defiance towards Zeke and unknowingly his whole "it would be better if we were never born" mentality. Being born is never a sin and giving your life in the hope of a better tomorrow for others might be terrifying but it is never meaningless.

Uncommon fact that is known of the Voice actor for Erwin. After the character died and was unable to learn what was in the basement, The actor stated that after that episode of AoT he would never watch another one. Because he said that if Erwin doesn't get to know what's in the basement then he won't either, so he never watched another episode after to stay true to the character ever outside the role. Bravo to the man, because that has to be the hardest move I've ever heard.

What i like about the dub over the sub for this speech is not only the specific placement of the final words and the progressive volume Tatum's voice. To me it emphasized that they all recognized the shit sandwich they all had to eat at the end and it was ok that they were angry about it because it still was worth it

I think the main reason this hits so hard is because he leads the charge. He did not buckle, he did not yield, he screamed out with rage with his fellow comrades to better the odds of humanity even if the cost was so great.
