Greetings That’s a good looking skunk. Beautiful tail. Thank you for sharing. I doubt he stinks. I have lots of wild skunk friends and none of them smell bad. If you sit quietly and without moving, that skunk will probably come right up and sniff your feet. I get that all the time. Skunks are sweet and harmless. I love them.

Having an owl visit can be rather thrilling, if they do not decide that your pet that might make a delicious early morning snack. I live on the edge of the city in an area where most lots are 1/4 an acre or less. But earlier this year we had some regular nightly visitors that from the shape and size could easily have been owls. Everything was fine for weeks, until one night I was not feeling well and turned my back for a few seconds, and even though my dog was only a few feet away from me and the house, I turned in time to see one of them making a beeline straight for him. Fortunately I reached my dog about the same time the bird with outstretched legs and claws swooped over my dogs head and I made enough fuss with my yells and outstretched arm that it decided that it was not worth the risk. The scary part is that it was so close to my house at the time, that when it changed course the last second, it barely missed hitting the family room window.

Sadly, when we get a little bit older, we find out that somethings are just not as much fun as we remembered.

That coyote would have had a lot of fun checking out gopher holes when they invade my yard. Its only 1/3 of an acre, but when the pocket gophers invade the yard they will create a hundred holes in a matter of days.
