For everyones information the genuin JCR has exactly the same fit up problem. For me I ended up cutting off the mounting plates that the bumper bolts pass though, shortening the mounting arms, and welding the plates back on "upside down" from intended. This fixed my fitment issues.

I’ve been thinking about doing this build and adding a winch inside the bumper instead of the hitch. How much room is back there from jeep to bumper. The winch I have in mind is the HF 5500 apex long drum. You did a great job with the all the body lines looks sharp!

Keep at it by all means. These Mercedes are used on regular basis in Africa and parts of the Middle East as cabs/private cars especially the diesel ones.

big3/big4 since the black orange cable limits that 250amp alt. The main struggle with the 7.3's charge circuit lies in the black orange wire and it routing thru the starter solenoid via fusible links. A simple ground to the alternator and 4awg plus wire to the dr side batt really helps. I redid my sd batt cables to match my obs with 1/0 alt cable, 2/0 dr to pass batt, 2/0 neg to block and 4/0 starter cable. Plus i added 1/0 grounds to the cab and frame along with a new 4awg cable to the distr block from the driv side batt. I used all tinned lugs and tinned marine grade cable since my trucks carry plows all winter and have the white rogers gpr's. For some reason Ford skimped on cables after 99.5 since my obs had 2/0 cables factory but my 01 had skimpy 2awg and 1/0. Doing this with fusing and clean wire loom, military batt terms, marine heat shrink and tessa tape turns out looking better than factory

You want the frame support braces off the coil spring frame that ford added to the chassis’s when coil spring front ends came out. It’s the 2 channels metal right behind the front K- frame. Leaf spring chassis don’t have these braces welded in.
