Kansas - Carry on Wayward Son Live - October 26, 2024 - Austin City Limits at the Moody Theater.
This was my fourth time seeing the band from Topeka, Kansas in concert, this time at ACL at the Moody Theater. I totally enjoyed lead singer Ronnie Platt's voice. He took over for Steve Walsh in 2014, and has kept the Kansas sound alive another ten years. Really cool seeing Rich Williams on lead guitar, the only remaining member.

Kansas made a stop in Austin, celebrating it's 50th Anniversary, with the "Another Fork In The Road" tour. This is my fourth time seeing them in concert and the first without Steve Walsh on vocals. Ronnie Platt has been on lead vocals since 2014 and sounds amazing. It was really cool seeing Rich Williams on lead guitar, the only original member in the band. So happy I got to see them with my wife!

This is the real band, Kansas! Just like from the 30s and 40s big band jazz swing era, those bands continued into the 50s and 60s without their original members. Musicians get old, like all of us. A difficult, draining lifestyle, and unfortunately, many lose their chops. These guys are younger and doing great.
This does not appear to be Kansas.
Wow! Still beautifully done. Thanks for sharing.
They should check the title before posting. Dustin in the wind? Good grief
I appreciate you pointing that out @hamhead2765. Who knows how long it would have been before I noticed.
They certainly do channel Zeppelin don’t they? Definitely create a certain sound and vibe…
Another cover band
So is EVERY symphony orchestra.
Another guy who could not care less about music. Good song, good band, pretty simple stuff. Tom Brislin alone is a superstar player here. I suggest cuddling up with your 70s vhs tape even more.
Seeing this terrific group tomorrow..........Nov. 9th 2024 in Joliet IL.... Yeah!!!😀😀
Not The original group
By that criteria, who is any more?
Unfortunately i'm not from the USA. But i hope, that in future i'll have the opportunity to see them.❤
❤ Beautiful as ever❤
Was at the show also! Great night!
I appreciate you watching! It was a great concert!
Saw them in Cheyenne a couple of weeks ago. Excellent show!
Thanks for watching!! I feel the same waya
I seen him in Savannah about a year ago one of the best Touring acts out therethey sounded just like the album
I'm glad they're still touring. Never thought I'd see them again.
Very good ,enjoyed this.🎉😂
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed. Amazing show
Nice one! 😊
Thanks for watching!
Props to the band. Bad ass performance!
I agree a hundred percent!
I was in the 2nd row center in the pit, and the show was AMAZING!! Thank you for sharing this! Although I am a bit disappointed that you skipped over when Josh came to the barricade during The Archer, because he was right in front of me!
Thanks so much for enjoying the video @graceallen6304! I wish I had gotten the part when Josh was standing right in front of you. You were in an amazing spot. My son and I are gonna be a little closer the next time they come to town!
@@MVanMiller I may be back in Austin next time too, as I have a GVF friend who lives in TX. I am in CA, but I traveled all over the place to see them for Starcatcher. ☺
No no please
Saw the in Chicago on 9/6/23 there concerts are amazing!! They are my current favorite band> Thanks for the upload.
Thanks for watching! Really glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you for filming this! Do you have any footage of the boys at the very end walking around and throwing drumsticks and picks?
Thanks for watching! Did you get a chance to see them? I can’t remember if I got any shots of them onstage at the very end. I’ll have to take a look.
@@MVanMiller yes I was actually in the pit crowd. You captured me in ‘Meeting The Master’. I am standing right behind Josh when he begins to sing on the catwalk. Your footage has meant the world and I sincerely appreciate that you took the time to upload these videos.
@@hannahspence9206 thank you for your kind words. I'm really happy the videos mean so much. I took a look at what I recorded and I stopped in the middle of the last song. I think I put my iphone down to really enjoy those last few moments.
Thank you for sharing this!!! I won't be able to see them live until their next tour. I'm living vicariously through others for now 🙏
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you liked it. They're great in concert. You definitely won't be disappointed if you get the chance to see them.
If these guys make a living, that’s fine But their music sucks
Great tour but wouldnt mind if they cut back on the jamming a bit to make room for more songs. I love a good improv sesh in a song here and there, but it was getting a little excessive IMO. Obviously a knit picky complaint, but that's just my take.
I completely understand what you're saying. Going into the concert, I had read several reviews about the length of the solos and that there were too many. I was prepared to have similar feelings but I ended up being blown away. Having said that, though, I do wish they had shortened them just a bit . Another song or two would have been great.
I definitely agree! You’re there to perform and I rather have actual songs be played rather than a jam sesh they can do anytime off stage.
Where does this video come from? Why does it in places? I do wish Josh would quit with the smoking jokes.
Thanks for taking a look at the video. I should have written in the description section that I only shot bits and pieces of songs ... except for Meeting The Master and Heat Above. I did a lot of clapping so had to put the phone down a lot. haha I enjoyed the music so much that i wanted to share some of it here
But smoking relaxes the person and everyone has a good time.
It's nice to see these guys keep on keepin' on. When they first came on the sceneI thought they were just another Led Clone. They proved me wrong.
I had never heard of 'em up until a few months ago. My son played some of their music for me and I was blown away. We had a great experience at the show. Thanks for checking out the video!
Thank you for uploading this. I am right next to Josh in the pearls and was too blown away that I was in close proximity to him to even record.
I'm really glad you came across this and I completely understand you being blown away. It had to be an amazing experience being that close to him. Very cool!
