    Enjoy the ideology behind this, but bari sax should be written in treble clef instead of bass, so may be confusing to some.

    Also, some older saxophones can't play the high F# and are instead limited to high F.

    I play my bari in a metal band using loads of effects. I've been struggling to keep up in volume with the rest of the band while avoiding feedback. Traditional clip-on condensor mics were way too hot. I currently use a Electro-Voice ND44 Dynamic Tight Cardioid, which works fairly well, but I still get feedback. Then I stumbled across this video and now I'm wondering if the intraMic would be a better solution. How is it with bleed in a live band setting?

    • @modernmusicarranger
      @modernmusicarranger 29 дней назад

      It’s much better about eliminating bleed than dynamic or condensor mics. But I have had a rare scenario where it picked up some bleed from other instruments at extreme volumes (like a tuba blasting on a small stage). And when I overcompensated by blowing harder, I didn’t think about how sensitive the mic actually is and can potentially get damaged from increased air pressure. But I’ve never had any big feedback problems. I also use a Zorg Blow! pedal on my board to give me more control of input and output gain and that’s helped a lot with volume problems. The one issue with live use is durability. I can tell that the system overall is a little delicate (connectors, mic unit, cables, etc) so it will start to wear out much faster with frequent live use.

    Sorry, but you are not the target for this bag, it is designed for a guitarist or a bass player with a multi effect, a couple pedals more, the cables and power and a few trinkets like strings or a battery. What you are using it for is use the multi effect for your keyboard and then try to put a pedaltrain nano+, IN HIS OWN GIGBAG, with it. It seem that you didnt read what Boss intended this backpack for and are just trying to make a quick buck on youtube by bashing this product with a "do not buy" clickbait title...this is not honest to me. Next, "Do not buy a Smart fortwo because if you have a large familly it will not fit"? Come on...

    I think the main difference is that the conventional mic includes some of the room sound - reverberations/ reflections from the walls whereas the intramic doesn’t. Maybe it’s not actually a microphone (?) I haven’t really understood how it works

    Hola! Ese audio que se ve en tu pantalla es la canción corriendo desde Sibelius? SI sí, cómo lo configuraste? Yo para transcribir suelo usar dos monitores: en uno tengo Logic con mi audio ya cuantizado al grid con marcadores y en la otra uso Sibelius para transcribir, pero es medio incómodo a veces trabajar así. ¿Qué recomendarías? Por cierto, gran metodología! Me da gusto confirmar que hago lo mismo en mi proceso y me ha resultado muy eficiente.

    • @modernmusicarranger
      @modernmusicarranger Год назад

      Hola Samuel! El audio era para otra canción que estaba transcribiendo para un cliente. Para transcribir, utilizo un programa llamado "Transcribe!". Me gusta porque es compacto y me permite utilizar el mismo monitor para reproducir música y transcribir en Sibelius. El inconveniente es que hay que hacer clic constantemente entre los dos programas para que funcionen, así que a veces me olvido de qué programa está seleccionado y por error pulso play en el programa equivocado, lo que me hace perder tiempo. Si Sibelius tuviera un plugin de transcripción con ajuste de velocidad y ecualización integrados, sería la mejor solución. También me gusta transcribir a papel y después introducirlo en Sibelius. Ese método sigue siendo el más rápido para una transcripción rápida. Muchisimas gracias por tu respuesta y gracias por ver el vídeo! Saludos!

    I have been trying to figure out the horn harmony used in the song I feel good, can you help?

    • @modernmusicarranger
      @modernmusicarranger Год назад

      I don't know the exact harmonies but from a quick listen I can hear the trumpet playing the root (D) on top on the D7 chord and G7 chord followed by C# (A7) and B (G7) on the hits. My guess is that the rest of the D7 chord is voiced (bottom to top) C F# A D and follows voice leading maybe F A B D on G7? It'd be beneficial to slow it down and really try to pick out the inner voices. It's especially difficult on older recordings and can take a while. If you have trouble find all the notes, there's nothing wrong with guessing based on the chord! One thing to note, it's interesting how low the voicings start at the tops of phrases. Assumingly to make the ends of phrases pop out more. I have a feeling that was an arranging call straight from James Brown himself! Hope this info helps.

    • @modernmusicarranger
      @modernmusicarranger Год назад

      You caught it! Good catch! In these examples they do but I can add more contrary motion and counterpoint for future examples! One thing I've noticed too is when players are sight-reading lines that move similarly, they tend to play more confidently right away. It can even save studio time to write this way but it's all a matter of preference and context. Thanks for watching!

    Thank you. What software are you using to transcribe? Do you also use Logic to arrange and compose?

    • @modernmusicarranger
      @modernmusicarranger Год назад

      For transcription I use Transcribe! by Seventh String Software which is a paid software. But, you can also slow down video/audio on RUclips for free. And my arranging/composing methods differ but lately I’ve been writing in Logic first then transcribing into Sibelius. If I choose to write in Sibelius first, I always try to play through the parts on my sax or keyboard before the final export. I find that performing the parts helps to edit ideas and keeps horn lines sounding organic. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching!

    • @jaijeffcom
      @jaijeffcom 11 месяцев назад

      Okay, you are wicked. I’ve been transcribing since the preferred (meaning only) playback option for repeated listening was cassette tape. I like the toolkit of: pencil, paper, ears (ears not included, gotta train ‘em). But playing back on RUclips Music is a drudge and unfocused. I use RUclips Premium to access music. Once you get an MP3 converter (left out of this comment on RUclips), your suggested playback app, Transcribe!, is a (I hate to use this overused term, but it’s true) game changer. The tempo reduction and key changing features are convincing and usable. Even Audacity doesn’t make it this easy. Thank you!

    I have beginner question why is tenor sax favored over alto sax in a pop brass section?

    • @modernmusicarranger
      @modernmusicarranger Год назад

      That’s a great question! There is no “rule” about using tenor vs alto. Both have a range that lies between that of trumpet and trombone. But it’s true that tenor is more favored. I think it has to do with the tenor sax generally having a fuller, warmer sound than alto (it also doesn’t “cut” as easily as an alto or soprano instrument) and being a better complimentary instrument to both trumpet AND trombone. It can be voiced easily above or below the trombone and has a similar range to lead trumpet when voiced an octave below. Also, alto sax in a pop context has grown significantly brighter over the years (David Sanborn, Eric Marienthal, etc) and even on the jazz side, the bright lead alto sound dominates the soundscape. In this case, it’s easier to use an instrument that’s already more mellow than ask a player to dampen their sound just to be able to play in a section. I’m sure there are more factors but those are some tendencies I’ve noticed. Thanks for the question!

    • @i.g3629
      @i.g3629 Год назад

      @@modernmusicarranger Thanks Profe. Your response is just what I needed. Im putting together a brass section and notice a constant trend in most pop music where tenor is the preferred woodwind.
